Hey, I know running TTW on linux is probably not officially supported but maybe someone happens to know how to fix it. Here's the thing, the TTW installer refuses to launch on linux so I installed both games (GOG version) on a windows 10 virtual machine, ran the installer then copied the entire fallout new vegas folder to linux (running debian sid, wine-5.0.3). I then installed FOMM, fixed the FNV registry entries so the game would stop complaining it was not installed and copied all the .ini files from the windows install. The game launches and runs fine, however:
1 - I've noticed no radio songs play, doesn't matter if its GNR or enclave. I can hear three dog fine, menu intro song plays fine as well, it's just the radio songs that are completely silent.
2 - Sometimes the animations for NPCs stop working and they just "glide" stuck in a pose without "moving" but still walking, it's kinda weird. Doesn't happen all the time, and I didn't notice any pattern as to when it does.
I also have both games on steam, didn't have any luck copying the folder from a steam install though. Toggling archive invalidation on FOMM also didn't help. Is it something that happens when you copy the folder without actually using the installer? Is there a way to run the TTW installer on linux using wine?

Karut (JohnnyGuitar/NVTF creator) says "Use Wine GE"

These instructions are just copy/pasted, I didn't write them. You could try asking Karut discord if you need clarification.

How to install FNV on Linux and not die trying.
//This assumes you already installed your driver dependencies and vulkan libs
//Using Wine GE for this one, I'll figure out Proton later.
You need the following:
>Linux (duh)
>A way of managing Wine prefixes (I'd strongly suggest Lutris, but you can go with whatever).
>Wine-GE, as it takes care of any dependency issues you have instead of you having to do it manually
*Common stuff you have to do before following this guide:
>Follow this guide to install Wine with all its dependencies: https://www.gloriouseggroll.tv/how-to-g ... ency-hell/
>Then install winetricks in your distro, which usually works as follows: sudo (yourpackagemanager) install winetricks
For GoG (Lutris):
>Before doing all this, download wine GE here: https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/wine-ge-custom and extract it to /home/YOURHOMEDIRECTORY/.local/share/lutris/runners/wine. if either the runners or the wine folder do not exist, create them.
>Go to Lutris, and create a new game instance, ran by wine. On Game options, create a Wine prefix folder and choose that as your install dir. On runner options, set the wine version to the GE version we got instead of System Wine.
>Save.
>Click on that instance, run EXE inside Wine prefix (for the GoG installer).
>Install to C: (seriously, do not install anywhere else if you don't know what you're doing)
>Go to the install dir and add xNVSE. It should be $WINEPREFIX/drive_c/whateverpathyouinstalledto, where $WINEPREFIX is the linux path for the wineprefix you added.
>Once that is done, download MO2
>Put it inside the drive_c folder inside the wine prefix folder you made
>Extract MO2
>Back to the game instance you just made, right click -> configure. Go to game options, and set the executable to MO2's
>Proceed adding mods as normal through MO2
Notes:
>Using MO2 on Linux works well. The GUI can be a little bit flickery however. The VFS (that is, the part we actually care about) works flawlessly though
>Do not use manual installs of mods at all unless you literally can't use MO2 for them. Linux is case sensitive unlike Windows and Wine can have issues resolving which folder do you want to use because it can't read your mind.
