the game keeps crashing when i kill a mutant overlord
everytime i try and kill a mutant overlord it crashes my game anyone know whats wrong?

General rule of thumb is to keep you mods up-to-date, including xNVSE and all its plugins. There were crashes in some of these plugins that have been fixed in current releases.
It's hard to tell the cause of your problem without some details. The problem doesn't appear in my TTW 3.3.1 Hotfix 1 game, but I have many modifications in place, including modifications of creatures.
You could verify the mods that you use for conflicts with TTW regarding Super Mutant Overlords. Save before a fight with such Overlord and then disable the conflicting mod. If the game doesn't crash anymore when you kill the Overlord, you probably have found the culprit. Then you need to figure out what specific changes of the mod cause the conflict. That requires some knowledge of modding and maybe scripting as well, if a script is causing the crash.

Lately I have been experiencing crashes too when killing Overlords. It was especially noticeable in Vault 87, which is crawling with them.
So I did many test runs and finally nailed it down to one weapon type. Whenever the Overlord had a Colt Monitor R80 - my replacement for the Automatic Rifle from Dead Money, which is now in the Super Mutant leveled lists - and this R80 had mods on it, the game crashed when the mutant was killed. There is something in the meshes that seems to cause this crash.
So, I simply replaced the meshes and textures by the WWP Automatic Rifle and the crashes were gone.
If it's only the Overlords that keep crashing the game for you too, you might want to pay attention to their weapons. Maybe you are using a replacer with broken meshes too.
