Alright, this is just a small issue I noticed but I noticed the following audio files are in 24000hz even when TTW is installed without OGG reencoding, while Fallout 3's voice audio are generally in a more higher quality, 44100hz.

I remember this wasn't a problem with previous TTW versions before. There might be more audio files I didn't know of.

You'll have to do it yourself if you want an audio format that the engine doesn't support. We won't support 48khz (they are 48khz not 44.1, I don't know what tool you are using but it's reporting false sample rates). We've had this discussion before, the sample rate for voice is undetectable by human ears. The only thing 48khz does it make voice files have ear raping audio distortion when voice modulation is applied in the NV engine because the audio engine is not the same as Fallout 3 at all. It's 5.1, not 2.1.

I am aware of some low quality reload sounds, that was because they were done before I became lead and the person who did them was not even a team member. They will be replaced later when I feel like doing the work.

Ah, so the audio files are reencoded to 24000hz to prevent distorted buzzing noises from audio holotapes, intercoms and characters wearing face masks? I see.

I didn't mention anything about the low-quality reload sounds. I only pointed out the voice files.

I can hear the difference between sample rates just fine. New Vegas' general 24000hz sounds a bit muffled when applied to Fallout 3's voice lines, compared to Fallout 3's standard 44100hz which sounded a lot more clearer.

For the "tool" I'm using, I'm guessing you're referring to what program I used to extract audio. I used BSA Browser to extract the audio files.

No by tool I mean the one you are using to determine the sample rate, it's 48khz in F3, not 44.1.

It's only slightly quieter yes. Vanilla in NV is 24khz (48/2) so we transcode to that.

Oh. I use foobar2000 to play the audio files. The program says the audio are in 44100hz, but when I play the encoded audio files, it says 24000hz.

winamp and audacity say F3 files are 48khz, so does encspot.

Alright, I extracted one of Fallout 3's voice lines through BSA Browser, then ran it through Audacity and foobar2000. Both of the programs say the audio file is 44100hz.
