Hey, Jax, do you still want that list of all the strange vanilla FO:3 encounters?
I started doing such things a while back for my own purposes, but if you really want it I'll go ahead and finish it.

I can't guarantee that anything will come of it at the moment, but it would be very useful to have on hand.

The thing about FO1 and FO2 encounters is that Sesom and his team are remaking those games, once they are finished they will be added to TTW
so has he pointed out before then there would be duplicated or very similar encounters while the player is exploring
.

WHAT?!? FO1 and 2 in TTW? Where can I read more about this?

It's FO1 at the moment:
Look here: http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/48095 the video has a lot of information too. A WIP thread is coming here soon.
Yeah, that is a frightening prospect, to integrate large mods like these.
It would make this a whole new ball game, I see bright flashes in the future... :)
Lets get back to the topic: wild wasteland. You could add a random encouter wwhere a entirly blue guy walks up to you as in a avatar reference.
Or you could add a dead lady, in a lake, holding some sort of sword, as in aexcalibur refrence (king arthur)
The problem is finding a lake
.
Also thinking about some acient refrences, from the greeck and latin myths. Think of people like Ulysses, Ajax, Achilles, etc... For the first time in my entire life that study of greeck and latin is usefull! Never saw that comming!
EDIT You could add somebody in a entire golden room, or a cropse somewhere who is golden and lootable and than that person would be named King Midas...
Or at the oasis you could make a guy a guy standing a pool of water, reaching for some apples above his head but who he cant actually take, Tantalus refrence.
Or you can make 2 guys with some sort of feather gliders, 1 kid and 1 old man, standing on the rivet city fly deck as a Daedalus and Icarus reference.
Or you could add a skeleton somewhere, entirly black, holding a clay pot or something like that, and that pot is slightly open. You name the skeleton Pandora and you have a Box of pandora refrences (Refrence to the moment where pandora release disseases and disasters and stuff like taht on the the world. Would fit perfectly in the fallout universe)
OMG so many great Ideas... Steamboat willey, lmao.
I have been working on something similar, adding random encounters to fast travel. I've figured out how to trigger my script but I can't seem to find a way to call up the destination selected in fast travel.
So far I have made three encounters in there own world spaces...
1: Two robots fighting. I found some sektor and cryax armor on some russian site and gave the armor to two new npc's, made it un-removable and they fight each other (I need some martial arts animations)
2: Optimums Prime: Same Thing, I found some armor, tagged it un-removable then gave him a behemoth mesh and adapted the armor texture to the new mesh. Unfortunately I can't make him transform (yet). He walks to the middle of the world space stops and says "roll out" then walks off of the screen. I would like him to transform after he says roll out but I just don't have the time to make that happen.
3. Crazy Noobs: Just a bunch of NPC set to ignore the PC's existence and be essential. They are all dressed in black ops and MW3 armor infinitely Killing each other.
If I can get some kind of scripting or something going on that remembers your fast travel selection I want to contact rooster teeth and see if they are interested in designing a zany halo/fallout encounter with me.
