How useful are armor-piercing rounds in TTW?

Since TTW makes use of both DT and DR for armor, I want to ask if AP rounds are still useful as they are in New Vegas.

Very. A lot of high level enemies.are not just high hp but highly armored too.

Sm overlord. Albino radscorpion. Enclave troopers in powered armors. Vertibirds...

DT bypass also bypasses DR.

Additionally jip fixed DT to apply first before DR like its supposed to be, instead of after.
