Gave DXVK another go. This time I moved all my .ini stuff into the FalloutCustom.ini beforehand. :lol:

I'm really impressed! I was able to bump uGridsToLoad to 7. However, although I have ini settings that increase the view distance of the objects and the distant landscape, the terrain in the not too far distance always looks blurry and low quality until I get near it(roads pop in, paths form, etc.) I thought increasing uGridsToLoad was supposed to fix this... :shock:

Is there an ini setting that forces the game to always use the high quality terrain in neighboring cells. Like if just the next cell over's terrain is fully loaded, not everything in sight?

Sadly I don't think that's possible. And changing UGridsToLoad higher than default is a really bad idea in FNV, unless you like crashing.
Produces the programming equivalent of coffee stains.

Dang it. Oh well I reckon it ain't too terrible.

I did use LODgen earlier. I think houses and stuff look better now but I ain't too sure. Guess all I can do now to improve the visuals is try some texture packs.

I haven't had any crashes after increasing uGrids so far. I'll tread carefully tho. I backed up some saves before hand in case I ran into trouble. Hopefully I won't need them. :)

IIRC, increasing UGrids can (or will) break certain NPCs and quests. Because the game will load those NPCs and stuff way before it should.

Which will make it so things that are supposed to happen when the PC is nearby, will happen when the PC is farther away. This will mess with the game and can (or will) break stuff permanently.

Ah, I see. I don't want that. Well, I guess I'll retreat to my backup save. Now I have to run from Greyditch to GNR again :x
