So, the FAQ recommends to copy the SArchiveList from FalloutCustom.ini to Fallout.ini for FOMM users. Easy enough.
However, when it comes to generating LOD, the forum guide says this:
"You'll need to copy the sArchiveList to your Fallout.ini either in Mod Organizer 1 or 2 or in the base game folder if you are not using Mod Organizer."
In any other situation, "base game folder" would be referring to the Fallout New Vegas installation directory. But the Fallout.ini, of course, is typically in the Documents/My Games folder which is definitively NOT the base game folder. I have never seen it referred to that way. But the Fallout_default.ini in the base game folder also has an SArchiveList, so now I'm not sure which .ini Roy was actually meaning to reference here.
Am I copying the SArchiveList from FalloutCustom.ini to BOTH the Fallout.ini and the Fallout_default.ini in the base game folder? Or only one?
Then there's this...
"You should leave out the archiveinvalidation.bsa from the list, it's important to make sure Fallout - Meshes2.bsa is present"
The FAQ says to copy it exactly (archiveinvalidation included), whereas this one tells me to leave out the archiveinvalidation.bsa from this list.
Does the archiveinvalidation.bsa need to be left out ONLY for the process of LOD generation and then restored after, or am I supposed to leave it deleted for regular gameplay? And again, in which ini? The one in My Games or the one in the base game folder?
I am thoroughly confused...

Confused about LOD generation again. Seemingly conflicting directions.
