i was wondering if you guys have had any problems using companion mods(made for nv) with 3.2.x? i wanted to try either of these two:

Improved Sunny Smiles Companion

As long as they don't edit the start up quest in Doc Mitchell's they should be fine.

okay so i ended up using this version of the sunny companion mods. it works nicely in terms of compatibility with 3.2.x as far as i can tell. 
i'm not sure if many people use that mod but, i thought i'd just leave this here for future reference. it has this quirk where every now and then sunny would break stealth, run around and scream stuff like "hey, i'm not part of this!" and "whoa, what's going on?" which is super annoying.
removing the observe combat behaviour flag from her standard follower packages fixes it.
