Game keeps randomly crashing
Hi. I've been trying to get the game ready for a few hours now. TTW works, but it crashes when I have other mods installed. These mods are: freeside open (ttw patch), open strip, NMC textures for ttw, project nevada core, and realistic lightning. My game somewhat seems fine but crashes at random moments when fast travelling or entering a building etc. Does anyone know what causes this problem?

Re: Game keeps randomly crashing
Tips from somebody whos a long date expert at crashing and ruinning installs ^^
Make sure you read the description from each of these and have the latest versions installed directly into FNV (and not through MO2)
xNVSE
New Vegas Heap Replacer
JIP LN NVSE Plugin
JohnnyGuitar NVSE
NVAC
NVTF - besides the instructions from its own page, you can try tweaking it according to this guide, see what works best for you - https://thebestoftimes.github.io/core-utilities.html
FNVModLimitFix
If TTW base works, what is crashing it is mod incompatibility.
Last month I was having a constant crash due to bad naming on a mesh (rwcornerstone01.nif) that came with a texture pack (https://www.moddb.com/mods/uhq-terrain- ... s-overhaul)
You can sort it out by having mods applied through MO2, turning 1 at a time (even folders with just extra meshes/textures from packs like NMC), and testing for a while. You using MO2?
Always make a merged patch in FNVEdit, even for testing. BUT leave weather mods like Realistic Lightning out of the merge and loaded last (after everything else).
Large/HD textures can cause memory issues (with crashes) and that happens more when mixed with lightning/effects mods, unless you're willing to troubleshoot yourself (wich I'm trying with my install because I've infinite patience), try using small/perfomance packs or applying a program that resizes textures such as dds optmizer (I've never used) or dunno what else.
Lastly for mods, we all have mods we liked in the past or want to try, unfortunately many are not compatible with TTW, so try sticking to updated mods converted by the very competent modders, there are plenty of working TTW mods and you'll have to satisfy yourself with those until (if ever) the others are converted into TTW. Refer to viewforum.php?f=55 and ask aroun in TTW discord - https://discord.com/invite/zg46A6H
Freeside Open, even with patches is not advised, dunno how Nevada Core goes as I haven't tried it yet but there are alternatives in https://pastebin.com/ziwtnejZ
Yes we (regular users) would require a fully maintained TTW + extras modding guide, I hear theres a guy who was asking for such in the feedback forum, go there and show your endless love for the suggestion or send the man all your money so he can devote his life to it
This is what I'm using so far, can't vouch for no problems as I'm too busy to play for the next years due to testing/mixing/maxing textures from every pack in existence:
Still have mods to add such as BLEED, TTW Street Lights and Realistic Wasteland Lightning. And hopefully if theres something wrong with this list another user will notice and bring it up.

Also make sure that you're not using the game's auto save functions.

Re: Game keeps randomly crashing
And just remembered in another topic - if you did install JIP LN NVSE directly into FNV folder but is launching TTW as a mod in MO2, it is possible that files inside TTW nvse folder are overwriting the newer ones from FNV\Data\nvse
So inspect your TTW nvse folder and backup/delete files that already exist in FNV\Data\nvse
Also make sure your exe is 4GB (LAA enabled) - viewtopic.php?f=23&t=8781
