I'm having some weird issues with energy weapons.

Basically, all the energy weapons I've used so far (laser pistol, laser rifle and plasma pistol) don't use iron sights, instead they use Fallout 3's zoom feature, I also can't seem to mod them, I bought the mods and have them in my inventory but whenever I try to use them a message pops up that says 'this weapon cannot be modded' or something like that.
Anyone know what might be causing this and how I can fix it? I know for a fact that I've installed everything properly and I've been playing with this specific character for hours now and I've had no other issues.

The iron-sights is not a bug, it's how Fallout New Vegas is, it doesn't have iron-sights for those energy weapons. :shock:

The weapon mods is also how Fallout New Vegas is. Fallout New Vegas doesn't allow to mod Laser Pistols, Plasma Pistols, Plasma Defenders or Tri-Beam Rifles unless they are the Gun Runners Arsenal version of those weapons (they have (GRA) after their name).

Oh, damn, I guess I never really played with energy weapons in New Vegas so I never knew that, not all the energy weapon mods say that they're gun runners arsenal so I assumed that some of them must be vanilla. Well... I feel a little silly now.

No worries. A lot of players get confused about the iron-sights and stuff when they start playing with Energy Weapons. :)

I'm using GRA Merged to have all guns found in the wild be GRA variants.
Apart from the sporadic silenced 10mm pistols in DC, all spawns seem to properly use the gra version.

The plasma pistol should have iron sights. The laser pistol, laser rifle, and tri-beam laser rifle (as well as the big guns for obvious reasons) are the only ones that shouldn't. TTW for some reason removes plasma pistol's iron sights. I don't know why, I've checked the BSA's and both vanilla new vegas ultimate and TTW have the same assets for the plasma pistol but TTW does the fallout 3 zoom in thing.

This is unmodded new vegas, both the GRA and vanilla versions of the plasma pistol have iron sights.

There's no sight on the gun so it doesn't have sights, it uses a different animation now too because the fire delay was wrong and for the mesmetron. I'll add sights to everything in the next update.
