Installation troubles
Hi, when I try to install TTW 3.2 I've got this message: XD3_INVALID_INPUT /* invalid input/decoder error */
and then "Error processing file: .\Anchorage.esm"
My both games are clean, and all DLCs are installed.
Plz halp.

Re: Installation troubles
Like our FAQ says, the causes for this error are having the games not patched to the latest version, having altered/edited/cleaned game .esm files or uncompressed .bsa files.
Suggestions on how to try and fix this are validating/reinstalling the games and/or making sure the games are fully patched.

Re: Installation troubles
Already tried all of that, I guess my last chance is to re-install my game. Thx for the fast answer!

Re: Installation troubles
I made some shit to make Fo3 works for windows 8 (just installing GFWL and GFWL Disabler), maybe that's the problem, idk.
Next time I will do exactly as the tutorial

Re: Installation troubles
Hi, and sorry to disturb you again.
I re-installed my game, and I've got the exact same problem. I don't get what the FAQ means with "cleaned ESM", and I don't get either how I can "validate" my ESMs. If someone can explain me it would be wonderful.
I'm using Steam version, and MO2.

Re: Installation troubles
You need both the executable and the data files to be unmodified. Some people think they should clean the esms using FO3Edit - never do this. It can break the game, and will certainly break the TTW installation. Also using things like the GFWL disabler might cause problems. You want a bone stock install of FO3 (with all DLC), and launch it once to have it create the registry entries and ini files. You don't have to actually start a game, but the launcher must be run.

Re: Installation troubles
Ok, got it.
Now I can remember that a long time ago I used Fo3Edit to clean my esm files. Even desinstalling and reinstalling the game can't give me the original esm files I guess. Do you know what I need to do to "unclean" my files ? How can I reset my Fallout games to 0 ? Steam doesn't want to. I need that bone stock install of Fo3.

Re: Installation troubles
Delete the game folder in steam, then allow the client to download them from the server. It'll take a while, but at least it's FO3, not FO4.
Once it's been downloaded, launch the game so that it makes the registry entries and ini files, then start messing around with MO2 and TTW.
