Help with a power armor texture mod

Hey, all I was wondering if someone could help me get a texture mod working. I'm trying to use the tribal DX power armor retexture by weijiesen and no matter what I do it won't work I've tried to install the meshes and textures, just the textures and nothing seems to work. I read texture mods from the fo3 nexus work with TTW and whats even more confusing is I've installed his other power armor retexture winterized DX and it works no problem. Does this require editing in fnv edit or it just straight up incompatible? I've uninstalled all my mods on MO2 so my LO is vanilla TTW.
