So, I watched a YouTube video which pointed out that Bethesda games load a lot faster if you package your texture mods into one BSA file rather than install them as loose files (e.g. in your Fallout New Vegas/Data/textures folder). So, I've decided to try that. I've merged several texture mods which I use into one BSA file (HD Textures.bsa), and placed it in my Fallout New Vegas/Data folder. I then used New Vegas Creation Kit to create a blank esp file with the name "HD Textures.esp", as suggested by this forum:
https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php? ... esp-files/
Finally, I loaded my game with HD Textures.esp ticked in my Mod Manager. Problem is, none of my textures loaded up once I used this method. I've since browsed through some of my other texture mods which use this method, as such "Clear Windows" (link below), and I've noticed that their esp files contained some data, not just blank as suggested by the forum post above.

Please help. I would like to package my texture mods this way and get them to work. Is there any way for me to path my esp file to recognize the meshes and textures?

The only way to have BSA's overwrite vanilla is through the use of override files that you can create, I believe it requires JIP and may just require you to create an empty file with the BSA name and a .override file extension.
Only problem is you can't manage conflicts between texture mods.

Great! You know how to do it? No problem, my texture packs don't conflict. So, how do I create such an override file, and using what software?

It's an empty file.
