Renaming an item

Hello all! How hard would it be to rename an object in the game? Basically i want to rename the cigarette cartons, cigarette packs, and since ive downloaded the smoking mod, i would also like to change the name of the cigarette to something different. Would this be difficult to do and what exactly would i need to download in order to do it? Also any video tutorials would be great but not necessary! Thank you!

FNVEdit should do the job. Search for the base IDs of the things you want and change their name. As long as you don't touch the FormID or the EditorID you should be safe.

Don't edit the original FalloutNV.esm. Copy the records in a new esp file "as overrides" and do the editing there. It is easy with FNVEdit.
