Installer Help Needed

Post by RBCN » Wed Feb 20, 2019 2:14 pm

So I've been coming back to this a few times now over the last few days, I've followed the Gamerpoets installer video and downloaded the 3.2 installer file. I've extracted it with 7zip and moved the contents to a new folder, and tried to run the TTW install.exe as admin but am only met with a "vcruntime140.dll is missing" error message, and alternatively trying to load the install with OGG reincoding.bat only gives me an error message stating "TTW install.exe cannot be found by windows".
I've seen other posts on here and troubleshot for the .dll error by downloading Windows Visual C++ 2015 and ran it to no change, same with the 2017 edition. Is there something I could be missing here that I'm simply overlooking? Any help would be appreciated! :D

A link to the required redist is in the read me of the 3.2.1 update , you will have to uninstall 2015/2017 first due to a bug in those installers which will prevent the 2013 redist from installing, and reinstall them later for your other games.

Your antivirus is probably deleting files from the installer.

Thanks for the help mate, I was guessing there was a conflict somewhere and I'll try exclude the files from my antivirus and re-download unhindered if not. Thanks again!

Damn Windows 10 is annoying. I own F3 physical disk. plus the dlc i backed up a long time ago from games for windows live. installed it to "this pc > local disk (C:) > installed programs > installed fallout 3 > (Data file etc is in there). didnt do anything to it, only ran it once. i own NV on Steam. steam is installed to "installed steam" both games are not in "program files" did nothing to NV either. only ran once. also have c++ 2005, 2008 x86, 2013 x64, 2013 x86 and 2015-2019 redist x64 installed. i used the link in the 3.1 readme to get the c++. uninstalled 2015-2019 redist x86. installed the new one. same problem. left the new one, re-installed 2015-2019 redist. same problem. VCRuntime140.dll error. do i need the 2015-2019 redist x86 too? i specifically upgraded to windows 10 (from XP) so i can play the latest mods. for NV. i have never had problems with XP. except i can only play TTW 2.9. no xnvse, johnny guitar, newest JIP, stewie tweaks etc. oh, i also updated to the newest version of Win 10 and used the bloat remover. UPDATE 2 MINUTES LATER: yeah i needed the 2015-2019 redist x86. well hopefully this post will help ppl in the future. EDIT: It failed again. always fails when it gets to "dlc04ferriswheelbase.nif" (point lookout). no i did not clean the esm before. i`m guessing it`s the .bsa
