The installer is running at a crawl, taking hours... is this normal?

Hey guys, I'm reinstalling TTW using the new executable installer. Is it normal for it to take several hours to complete the installation process?

I'm running on a somewhat old system based on the Intel Core i7x980 and off a standard physical drive... I've had things slow down before but never this much!

Can take a long time on old cpus.

I have a Ryzen 5 2600x and it took me about 3~ hours to install TTW on an HDD. With the one you have you may want to turn off your computer's hibernation mode and just leave it installing over-night.

Took me around 4 to 6 hours to have it installed.

I had the installer run during a game of Monday Night Football, and even after the game, it was still installing for about another 40 minutes or so

Okay show off... Took a couple of hours for me, but even on previous versions, the installer would take a long time. With audio encoding it takes a little longer. People can always run the installer without audio encoding, doesn't take as long. But I wouldn't recommend it. I've waited a long time to hear the glorious muffled voices through intercoms and power armor helmets in TTW. It's a beautiful thing.

Yeah without the encoding it takes like 9 minutes here, which is twice as fast as the old installer.

Sadly half-way through it had a hard time reading a file and just plain stopped... I think this is more to do with my system though.

I'm upgrading very soon so I'll give it a try on my new box in a few days.

What do you mean stopped? Did it have an error, or was it just stopped at a file number and stuck there for a long time? This happened to me, but after a long period of time it eventually continued.
