New to TTW and looking for advise

I am new to TTW and am wondering if MCM works with this. My game can detect it but the Menu itself will not work.

MCM doesn't do anything by itself, a mod must have a menu for it to show up.

Yes, it's perfectly compatible.

I have seen this posted elsewhere so I added Weapon Mod Vending Machine, which says it requires MCM but, it still does not work. One other question I have is how do you tell if a mod has been updated since there are no version numbers. I am assuming you can use the date of the post as a version #

Correct, the most recent date of a posted mod usually means it's the most up to date version.
Are you having issues installing WMVM? Or Is it not showing up in game? Did you download the conversion off of the TTW website, or did you download from the Nexus?

Can someone give me an example mod with MCM? I am also wondering if there is a write up of How to know which mods work with TTW. will all FNV mods on Nexus work or is there a way to tell whether a mod works?

The only way to know if something is compatible or not is to check conflicts in FNVEdit
