Sounds and weapon switching lag during combat
During combat, I get huge lag where guns stop making sounds and switching weapons through hotkeys doesn't work, then all of a sudden everything catches up all at once.
I'll try and get some video to make it clearer.
I've tried tweaking the nvse_config heap amount from 400 - 500 which did not help, and I'm testing heap replacement as a last resort (I've heard the arguments against it, just want to test for myself), but I have not had it enabled before when I experienced the lag.
I have all the usual stability mods NVSR and NVAC, and my mod list is really small with all stable mods. plugin list - https://pastebin.com/cqk3it2x
I'm not using any texture replacers or ENB.
My PC has good specs, a strong cpu - i7-6700k and TTW is running from an SSD.
Any help appreciated thanks!

Re: Sounds and weapon switching lag during combat
This is often caused by antivirus programs, Malwarebytes real time scanner is known to do this specifically.

What my malware bytes looks like https://imgur.com/a/db2h68k - so no real time scans enabled.
I have avast as my main anti virus and just use MB for the scans. Could avast be doing something similar?
---
I'm going to try and add FalloutNV.exe and nvse_loader.exe to avast's exception list -- didn't work

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsF06V- ... e=youtu.be heres a really bad example - right at the end you can hear all the sounds finally catch up, it's really loud.

Yes with the recommended settings from the TTW performance guide.
I also let it manage by FPS and lock it to 59 if that matters.

See our FAQ instead.
The critical section handling causes it.

Already set to 0 unfortunately -- double checking 1 critical option was disabled the other not .
Will test with the settings from the FAQ and let you know if it improves.

Re: Sounds and weapon switching lag during combat
These are my settings now:
bManageFPS = 1
bHookCriticalSections = 0
bHookLightCriticalSections = 0
bHookHashtables = 0
bReplaceHeap = 0
bReplaceGetTickCount = 1
bLogToConsole = 0
bFastExit = 1
bFlushLog = 1
iSchedulingResolution = 0
bReplaceRandom = 0
bExperimentalStuff = 0
iMainHookPoint = 1
The stuttering is significantly better, but there is still some lag and catch up like this.
Seems to all trigger when I open the pip boy. Very odd. If you listen carefully you can hear the click of the sniper reloading at the end. The video shows 2 instances at the beginning and the end.

The FAQ recommended manage fps off, but it is a convenient way of locking my fps to 60 because I'm on a 144hz monitor. Does that make any significant difference and should I change it?

Re: Sounds and weapon switching lag during combat
I use nvidia profile inspector to do this.
The FPS manager is to maintain a particular FPS, not limit it. People often misunderstand what this feature is doing.
