2.9 Mods Access
I do know the older mod section is currently hidden because people were being dumb, I was wondering if it'd be possible for me to get access to it? I'm not going to use it with the 3.2 version, but a while back I had to reset my hard drive, after backing up files in my Documents folder like game saves. What I didn't backup were mods for my various games a lot of those saves required because I hadn't thought of it at the time, and while I did go back to reinstall New Vegas and Tale of Two Wastelands(I believe the version I have installed is 2.7 or 2.8), when I actually did that the website was having hiccups and I wasn't able to get a lot of mods that my save needed. While I know I should've gotten back to it, other things kept coming up and it always slipped my mind, and it looks like I've only just come back the day that section of the board was hidden. Apologies for posting this as a topic in the board itself, also, but the account I'd made previously was when the site was having hiccups, and I think the account I had made was vanished because the site was rolled back.

Re: 2.9 Mods Access
I'm not going to update in a while either (i suppose that convert all mods or the majority willl take some time) , i've been modding my TTW 2.9 the whole month and today i was going to add some more :_D
So if there is any way to get access i would be very grateful.

Re: 2.9 Mods Access
I've removed all the conversions I did permanently now, due to the fact I don't want to support them any longer.

I mean, I'm at least not looking for support, just to be able to download and install the mods I'm missing for my 2.8/2.9 installation so I can keep using my save...I get that people were being dumb but if someone's just looking to continue using the Legacy version because they don't want to start a completely new save for now I don't see why it should be such a big deal.

You're not looking for support but that doesn't mean others wont. It's because of those individuals - the ones that don't read or pay attention to anything - that everyone else has to suffer the consequences of their actions and it is because of them that we have to anticipate ourselves and act accordingly.Hiro Dark wrote: ↑Thu Nov 22, 2018 4:14 amI mean, I'm at least not looking for support, just to be able to download and install the mods I'm missing for my 2.8/2.9 installation so I can keep using my save...I get that people were being dumb but if someone's just looking to continue using the Legacy version because they don't want to start a completely new save for now I don't see why it should be such a big deal.
The 2.9 version is a can of worms that is now deprecated. Were it up to me I would hide everything related to it, not just the modding section. Why? Because as it stands it forces the devs to divide their time into developing and maintaining content for the newest versions while troubleshooting people's errors and bugs from the old one, most of which have already been fixed. The same mentality applies to modding.
TTW is extremely large and complex in scope, and still in development, so save wipes are expected. In all fairness you had 3-4 years to enjoy the old versions without worrying about this sort of thing, plus it's not like they're going to drop another major update any time soon. And if you only started playing recently, what's the loss of a few hours of gaming worth in the long-term? In other words - either content yourself with what you have or just buckle up and update the game.

Re: 2.9 Mods Access
I think, that in the last week or so, we have spent more time trying to find and fix bugs reported by users, that were caused by them using mods for 2.9 with TTW 3.2. Than we had finding real bugs from 3.2.
I know it's inconvenient for users out there, but unfortunately letting people in those mods again would cause a bigger inconvenience for the team. Because it is frustrating, when we use our spare time to work on TTW. To chase false leads that go nowhere and we wasted hours and sometimes days doing boring stuff to try to reproduce and fix bugs that are just not there. All that time could have been spent in actually working on fixing real bugs and make TTW better.
It just reminds me of a long line to get a special item from a shop. We wait all day in the line, we then finally reach the store's entrance and they tell us that the item was never available and the store is now closed... Just a waste of a day

Re: 2.9 Mods Access
I've seen some conflicting information regarding mods for 2.9 (mainly on the nexus). Some mod authors are stating their converted mods for 2.9 still work for 3.2, regardless of the fact that said mods were never updated via the new conversion script... Is this actually the case for certain mods?
For example, after looking through the batch files for NMC's texture pack (which you re-uploaded to the 3.0 modding forum) I noticed they were the same files back from 2014 (presumably used in TTW 2.0 as well). That would indicate to me that I should still be able to use same mod I installed for 2.9 on 3.2 (using the aforementioned batch files/ cleanup scripts) without complication, correct? Just looking for some clarification here.

NMC is just a texture replacer so it should work out of the box no matter what version you're playing. I'm using it myself and I've had no problems so far.STREET_BLAZER wrote: ↑Mon Nov 26, 2018 4:58 amI've seen some conflicting information regarding mods for 2.9 (mainly on the nexus).
