2 quick questions about adding mods

Post by Topgun157 » Wed Feb 22, 2017 3:44 pm

1. Do certain NV mods affect the DC wasteland? for example lets say I download a mod that wasn't sepcifically made for TTW that increases the rate you gain radiation from all sources. Will this mod affect the water in the DC Wasteland?

2. Do I have to convert every single Fallout 3 mod I want to add or can certain ones be simply added manually or with FOMM?

Yes, mods that change the game mechanics like radiation gain work fine, except for water.

All Fallout 3 mods needs to be converted.

Note on converting FO3 mods: Even many mesh/texture mods need to be converted. For example, FONV changed the way things like supermutant models are done. There is a base body, and then overlays for things like armor or changes to the body for each type of supermutant. So if you have a mod that relies on the old supermutant models, you wind up with invisible supermutants with floating armor running around. I ran into that on one mod I was converting from FO3 to TTW. laugh

So yes, it's extremely rare that ANY type of FO3 mod will work without SOME kind of conversion - even just mesh mods.
