Installing

When Installing Fallout NV and TTW make Sure you set the install directory outside of its default.

After Installing Fallout NV we are going to make sure there are no nasty flags on the directory.

On the "Set Game Directory"

Post by TJ » Mon May 04, 2015 1:43 pm

On the "Set Game Directory" bit, default directory works fine if you install steam outside of Program Files. It's the same with Windows Vista / 7 / 8 / 8.1 / 8.2 really. Just an extra tip for your guide, if you choose to use it.

are you installing steam

Post by mayoko » Tue May 05, 2015 11:18 pm

are you installing steam games outside of program files because windows 10's got some crazy restrictive user account control? I just disabled that poop via registry tweak on windows 8 since you can't disable it only supress the popups unline windows 7.

Well It has just had issues

Post by micmou » Wed May 06, 2015 1:47 am

Well It has just had issues even with steam using it in the programs directory so I changed it just it is better. I guess I could re-write the shell that controls windows directorys and such but I have a strong feeling windows would beat me with a stick if I released some of my customized program shells. It is just much better to move it. Also got Virtual Box to work so I am going to be adding the Windows 8 Section. I haven't gotten much done because I am working on the Sponge Project for minecraft

I upgraded to Windows 10 last

Post by KeltecRFB » Thu Jul 30, 2015 1:25 pm

I upgraded to Windows 10 last night and having problems loading the game with ENB and some other things  The game loaded not in full screen without ENB but with it, it hangs.  I just started troubleshooting it and I will report my progress.  My next step is upgrading video drivers since I received a warning to upgrade as I was shutting down which was kind of messed up.  It looks like Windows got the shut down/restart/sleep buttons mixed up or settings I need to fix?   The good sign is all of my devices were recognize and no yellow/black exclamation marks.

I have the game working but

Post by KeltecRFB » Wed Aug 05, 2015 1:31 pm

I have the game working but have noticed a significant fps drop.  Is this because of Win 10 bells and whistles or a Take Ownership issue or I should start a new game situation because of an upgraded OS?  All my other games work great.  And the game works great until the muzzle flash of a gun goes off and I am using Eve.  However, I had no issues before I upgraded.  I am going to make sure my load order didn't get changed around but would a bad load order cause a FPS drop?  In other words, the game wants to crash but NVAC stops it.  Would that simulate a FPS drop?

Or maybe this is my problem because it is still installed in the default directory when the rig was Windows 7?

Is there a Windows security issue for installing it in the default directory or x86 Program's folder?

I lost FPS on Win10 as well.

I lost FPS on Win10 as well. It's a brand new OS, I'm sure it's just the driver aren't as efficient as Win7 or Win8 drivers for equivalent devices.
