Rivet City Issues

Post by Twisted_Sloth » Sun Jan 28, 2018 3:55 am

So I have just gotten my character to Rivet City and was talking to everyone as well as exploring the place upon entering the "Barracks" where the guards hangout and sleep I continued up until I reached the armoury which was when I noticed this issue if I continue to go up I will hit a corridor that takes a left and turns to the door that allows me to access the Flight Decks lookout point right at the top of the ship. However in this corridor I have to jump a relatively large gap as the floor and the surrounding wall does not exist allowing me to see the floor below as well as the void of the empty cell.

For a better description please refer to the image below. I do not know what has caused this but it is a rather strange problem, It does not matter too much as I don't see myself visiting the lookout that much however i am concerned the NPC's will fall never to be seen again.

The other issue I ran into is that the Rivet City Market is still closed during the day it is about 12 O'clock in the middle of the day and the market is still locked and if I go through the stairwell to get to the market and I reach the Market I get watched very closely then shot at after awhile.

Any Idea what is causing these issues?

Enter the market from the door at the bridge, there's no trigger box to unlock it in one of the stairwells.

No idea about the disappearing kit pieces, it's random in the old version.

You have 119 plugins. Try to reduce that number to around 90.

Nah, in my experience keeping the load order below 135 plugins will be fine.  I am not sure how compatible vicious waste is with PN and the TTW PN patch.  That maybe worth looking into.

The same goes for tuckered out as well.

It depends on the complexity

It depends on the complexity of your load order and how many texture mods you are using too. I can even load 255 plugins if they are all 1kb , so obviously the issue is a memory one.

It's your time bomb. But if you're having problems and you have a large (more than 90) amount of plugins, the first thing I would be doing is shrink the number and see if the problems are gone.

It is a known fact that having too many plugins can cause problems like the one you're having and many other ones. Even if you don't see any for the first hours of playing the game, then all of a sudden stuff starts to break without any obvious reasons.

Some people have problems even with 100 plugins, others have with 110, 115, 120, or any other number past 90. There was even cases where users can even run with a certain amount and finish the game without problems. Then they uninstall the game, and later on install it again, run the same load order and all of a sudden problems happen until they reduce the number.

If it is a mod causing it. Use FNVEdit to load your entire LO and check which mods alter Rivet City in that area and you will probably find what mod is causing that.

Sorry to revive an old post

Post by Tacitvrno » Sat Jun 30, 2018 3:40 am

Sorry to revive an old post but i found myself having the same issue. I'm just leaving this here for people trying to find a solution.

I found out this is caused by altering your timescale or, at least, is related to you altering your timescale. In my game this problem was caused by having Project Nevada (had timescale of 20) and using the Faster Sleep Wait mod by Roy Batty. If i waited long enough, the market would eventually open. Removing the mod allowed me to keep the time scale of 20. I did not try the wait mod alone with a timescale of 30 so i can't say for sure if the mod alone caused it, but seeing as the OP doesn't have the mod installed, i doubt it.

So, if anyone gets this problem in the future just know to search your load order for time scale related mods, or revert your timescale to 30, as a lot of people in this site recommend, especially during quests and dlc. I hope this helps someone :D
