There are a number of follower mods that I want to use that all have "Children of the Wasteland" as a requirement to get them working. I've read on here that CotW NV is compatible with New Vegas, but I haven't been able to get it to work. I might be a special case, though.
When I started my playthrough, I wanted to use the Shojo Race mod. I wanted to play as a child since I played as a male the first time that I played FO3 and as a female the first time that I played NV, and I thought that the version in this mod looked better than the default children. The directions to set it up were kind of complicated, with required mods and bits of other mods *including* CotW in order to get it working. In the end, I got it to work, though. Since it took me so long to get all of my mods to play nice with each other, I figured that I'd play through the FO3 part first, before adding in mods for the NV portion when I got there.
I started working on modding the NV half of the game, and went to install CotW off of the New Vegas Nexus page. Installed it with FOMM, and the main menu wouldn't load. I tried everything that I could think of, including running my load order through LOOT to see if I did anything wrong. (Did NOT try cleaning files. Heard it helps in Skyrim, but is a bad thing to do to Fallout) After a while, I eventually read something that said to use NVEdit to help see what was wrong.
From what I can tell, CotW NV is trying to add itself to the FO3 files instead of the NV files. I don't know why. Is there a patch or something that I need to fix this? The alternative issue is that a full CotW installation is not working because of the Shojo Race mod that I added in.
Does anybody know what's wrong with this and how to fix it? Worst-case scenario, I wait for 3.0 to come out and start from scratch there. I planned on replaying this eventually at that point because it would be a clean start on what mods are compatible and what ones are being converted. Still, I would like to get my current game working first, though.
