The GECK freezing - invalid swap index

Post by Arkngt » Thu Aug 27, 2015 4:17 pm

I thought I'd check out how much work it would be to make The Lone Wanderer Theme compatible with TTW Interior's version of the Megaton Player House. I've converted the plugin to TTW and also fixed the script so it can be saved with TTW (it had Fallout 3 specific entries). But when trying to load the house in the render window, the GECK freezes. It can be loaded with TTW, but not if I try to load it with TTW Interiors.

The issue seems to be the last warning I get when trying to load it:

Warning - PowerUp - REPORTS Found invalid swap index. Origin: 00505C40

Anyone who knows what this is - and if there is something I can do about it? I''m using GECK PowerUp patched for 4GB, so I don't think that's the issue as I've successfully worked with TTW Interiors and another converted Fallout 3 plugin.

send me the file and I'll test on my end. There is a lot of stuff in the Megaton and Tenpenny homes and the GECK sometimes refuses to load the cells for me too.

I have no explanation for this it just craps out sometimes but I do get the cells loaded with some patents.

Invalid Swap indexes are

Invalid Swap indexes are usually broken texture sets, or nodes in a nif are duplicated.

I tried searching for 505C40 in FNVEdit, but it found nothing.

Here's the converted version of the plugin.

505C40 is a location in GECK

Post by JaxFirehart » Thu Aug 27, 2015 6:33 pm

505C40 is a location in GECK code, not a formID, unfortunately. No way of knowing what is what aside from hard troubleshooting.

If you haven't already, try running an error check in xEdit.

I've tried a couple of things with FNVEdit: adding the TTW Interiors plugins as masters, cleaning the esp, fixing conflicts, but no luck so far.

Yes, but the issue is that

Yes, but the issue is that the GECK freezes after reporting the swap index error. Not sure if the freeze is caused by the reported error, but something makes the GECK freeze so I can't do anything.
