Help with load order?

Post by Kuro_Neko » Mon Jun 08, 2015 2:17 am

With my current load order I'm CTD just before the main menu loads.  There's nothing wrong with the core files cause I disabled everything except for fo3 fonv and ttw core files and it loaded fine.  I've read over the load order general guide and followed its instructions but that doesn't seem to have helped.  I could go through it mod by mod but that would take forever considering how long it takes the game to load each time.  So I hoped someone would be able to glance at my load order and tell me if there's an incompatible mod in there or if it's a load order issue or what have you.  Thanks in advance.

Thank you for the quick response.  Could you please elaborate on that?  I assume you mean that's too many, yes?  What max number should I aim to stay under?  Any suggestions on which mods to drop?

I believe the magic number is somewhere around 130. Try to shoot for under that.

Post by Kuro_Neko » Mon Jun 08, 2015 4:01 am

Ok that seems to have done it.  I got it down to 125 and I no longer CTD on main menu.  Thanks alot for the help guys.  I'll start playing and fingers crossed nothing further goes wrong.  Thanks again.

Ok, new problem. I'm having an odd facal texture issue.  I'm getting these grey-green patches on the characters' faces.  I think they're indicating something wants to use a different hair/facial hair style since at least on the overseer there's definitely the outline of a larger beard.  But I don't have anything running that affects faces except TTW Redesigned, at least that I know of.  here's my new load list in case it matters:

I made sure that bLoadFaceGenHeadEGTFiles=1 in both fallout_default.ini and fallout.ini as the TTW_Redesigned readme said too.

Could it be something to do with archive Invalidation?  I downloaded the archiveinvalidationinvalidated!.bsa for FONV, put it into my data folder, and inserted the below entry into both fallout.ini and fallout_default.ini.  Does the entry need to be different for TTW?

I did notice there were two entries for caucasian in the character creator (not the same, one only had a few presets, the other the full selection) which was odd and might have something to do with it.  No idea what would cause that though.

Any help anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated.

The game still loads plugins

Post by JaxFirehart » Mon Jun 08, 2015 5:35 am

The game still loads plugins that are in your data folder, even if they aren't ticked as active, so make sure that you UNINSTALL any unused mods instead of simply deactivating them.

Your archive invalidation looks fine. More likely than not it is an issue caused by all the vestigial plugins in your data folder. If not, it is a mod conflict of some sort. FNVEdit can show you which mods are conflicting and where, but it requires reading the FNVEdit training manual first.

Ah ha!  I did not know that.  I followed your advice and that cleared up the issue.  Thank you very much.

And, honestly, why should they? That makes absolutely no sense.
