Indeed.  What's the point of even being able to uncheck it if it's just going to load it anyway.

So, new problem.  A minor one this time: my compass, hp bar, ammo & cnd, and ap bars aren't getting hidden by ihud like they're supposed to.  I installed the mods in the order they're listed in the darnifiedUI mod: DarnifiedUI -> Project Nevada -> Mod Configuration Menu -> Other UI mods (Stimpack counter, JIP Selective Fire, Vera) -> One-Hud -> Flashlight NVSE -> UIO.  And the load order is as it is in the Load Order General Guide. I tried putting One-Hud after Project Nevada instead of before it like the Load Order General Guide said just in case that was an issue. No change.  Here's my current load order:

This is as I said a minor issue, so I can live with it if I have to.  But any assistance would be appreciated.

So two new problems, both

Post by Kuro_Neko » Wed Jun 17, 2015 7:08 am

So two new problems, both thankfully minor.  Mora's outfit keeps changing depending on the distance and angle at which I'm viewing her.  Most common are a white sleaved bomber jacket and some sort of maroon tigerstrip jumpsuit but there's a couple of patterns that pop up as well.

The other one is that my hunger, thirst and sleep bars don't seem to be moving at all.  Over twenty-four hours and I'm not hungry, thirsty or sleep deprived at all.

Here's my load order:

I can certainly live with these issues if I have to.  But if anyone has any suggestions they would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hardcore needs can go wacky

Post by Trm8r » Wed Jun 17, 2015 1:43 pm

Hardcore needs can go wacky if we change the timescale and use an alternate type of fast travel. I usually temporarily fix it by either sleeping for an hour turning hardcore off then on. Once I let it go to long and died immediately upon loading a save. If you haven't changed the timescale then you'll have to wait for one of the smart guys to answer.

That might be it.  I didn't change it on purpose, but PN changes it by default and I hadn't realised until alittle ways in.  I've got it set back to the regular 30 (even though I find that way too fast) since I remember seeing in the faq that that was necessary.  I'll try turning hardcore needs off and then back on again and see if that works. Thanks.

I hate the vanilla timescale, so I say 'damn the torpedoes' and live with the bugs. But I usually restart before I finish Broken Steel.

I hate it too.  In previous play throughs I usually set it to something much more easonable, like 5.  Why exactly does the time scale need to be 30? And what happens if it isn't?

The games internal timings

Post by RoyBatty » Thu Jun 18, 2015 4:42 am

The games internal timings are set for that time scale, stuff we can't control. So if it's not that, things get out of sync. Quests with cutscenes will break or not work, things with timed events will break or act strange, etc.

For what it's worth, I've always changed the timescale and rarely encountered big problems. On this playthrough I've had to console my way through Tranquility Lane and the Pres Metro. But that was after I installed and uninstalled quite a few mods, one of them was Dust. I think a setting of 8 is reasonably safe, but Roy knows far more about the game than me.

Turning hardcore needs off

Post by Kuro_Neko » Thu Jun 18, 2015 10:39 pm

Turning hardcore needs off and then back on again resolved that issue.

Still having texture issues with mora's outfit.  And I've noticed something simlar happening to my character when wearing the armored vault tech suit.
