Can't seem to get several HUD altering mods to work together...

Post by Postal-Dude » Fri Sep 22, 2017 9:45 pm

Why are HUD mods always such a hassle to implement into the game?

I am usually already happy if half of my installed mod properly work.

Anyway, my HUD mods are:

Darnified UI TTW Alpha 9, OneHUD, Project Nevada HUD elements, UIO

I should also note out that I use ModOrganizer v1.3.11, I find the way it manages mods the best. Not so sure if it does work with those named HUD mods though. I recall that FOMM worked better in this regard but maybe its just because I am new to Mod Organizer.

They all barely seem to work. Darnifieds core functions seem to work but adding any special meters or trying to remove brackets in the Mod Configuration Menu does NOTHING. My grenade icon is also missing and OneHUD cant seem to find all HUD elements.

Yeah, A MESS.

Anyone has any advises for me? I really run out of ideas. Already tried to activate them in various combinations but doesn't change anything. Is Mod Organizer the issue or do I miss something? I also activated UIO as last HUD mod. But it seems to be listed in the overwrite section of MO anyway. What is the general install and load order of those mods?

You don't need OneHUD.

You don't need OneHUD.

I have Darnified, PN and UIO and it just works.

In MO's left pane PN should be above Darn and then UIO can go anywhere, since it's a NVSE plugin it makes no difference but I have after all my other UI mods.

Sort the plugins properly and you should be good to go.

Tried what you said but it

Tried what you said but it doesn't fix anything for me. Now even Darn UI says that the Menu hasn't been detected and misses in the Mod configuration menu, making it effectively useless.

Why wouldnt I need oneHUD? You mean its not worth the hassle? I like being able to position my HUD elements.

You may need to clear out

You may need to clear out your 'Overwrite', or reinstall those UI mods if you've moved the UIO created files from it into one of them.

Pretty sure @Roy said the TTW version of Darn doesn't need oHUD. In my FNV profile I have oHUD but I don't need it in my TTW one.

Hm. I tried a new base build

Post by Postal-Dude » Sat Sep 23, 2017 7:28 am

Hm. I tried a new base build to locate the problem and the problems already start with Darnified UI which is at the top of all HUD mods. Darnified UI doesn't seem to save most of the settings properly and also ignores save and load from ini.

I should also note that I use Roys version of Darnified with FNV and NOT TTW. TTW is not currently installed. Is there a problem with this? Not that I think so...

EDIT: Ok, screw it. I went full berserk and made a complete reinstall of all mods and installed every HUD altering mod seperately. I am actually at the point where EVERYTHING works together. No idea what exactly I changed but I installed the original 0.0.4 version of DarnUI and placed UIO above oHUD with Darnified UI patch.

Voila, works now. Guess I have to pass the TTW Darn UI from Roy this time. No idea why it doesnt work. Guess I am just too incompetent or it doesn't like oHUD since many features are in the TTW version by default already. Or it really does only work with TTW installed. It was Alpha anyway and the developement never finished due to salty complains from others... I dont wanna add any more salt into the wound so lets just skip that part. Everything works now anyway. Thanks for the help.

I btw now know what caused

Post by Postal-Dude » Thu Sep 28, 2017 10:55 am

I btw now know what caused the problem. I loaded Darnified UI as first of all HUD mods in Mod Organizer. This probably caused some issues with XML Menu files getting overwritten in the wrong order. Most people recommend to load Darnified UI first but I don't exactly understand why.

Mod Organizer loads the mods in the order they are sorted. Placing Darnified UI as one of the last HUD mods fixes all the issues and all HUD elements work. Just wanted to say that. So if anybody has similar issues and uses Mod Organizer, load Darnified UI as last HUD mod! Might help you.

I noticed this while building another mod build and ran into the same issue as before.

Because UIO is supposed to

Post by RoyBatty » Thu Sep 28, 2017 3:42 pm

Because UIO is supposed to handle the overwrites, not mod organizer. You are supposed to hide the conflicting files so they are not overwritten. UIO merges everything at runtime. However my Darn is still not at all compatible with Gopher's.
