What is this INI from?

Post by Royhr » Sun Jun 14, 2015 1:58 pm

Ok I just noticed an ini called Ini Settings.ini that is in my data folder where generally there are no ini files. Not sure where it came from or what it is for. This is what is in the file....

[General]

SCharGenQuest=001FFFF8

sIntroMovie=

bLoadFaceGenHeadEGTFiles=1

Does anybody recognize this? Could it possibly be from the ttw_startupmenu_1 mod I recently installed so I could start a new game in the Nevada wasteland?  If so why is it in the data folder? Or is it maybe suppose to be there?

I actually found it while doing some testing of a mod for somebody. That mod was suppose to install an ini in a folder in the congif folder but for some reason it was put into the data folder. So I'm thinking that FOMM installed it in the wrong place and maybe this other ini file was put into the wrong place as well. Is this something that FOMM will do if something is messed up?

That is an INI override file

That is an INI override file for use with Mod Organizer. If you're not using Mod Organizer, you can ignore that file, though you should make sure those changes are made to your main INI.

Ok thanks. Now that mentioned that I remember those from the main ini. But it's weird because I haven't used MO for quite awhile but maybe it has been there all this time and I just never took note of it. But my question now is should it have been in the data folder? Usually ini files are in the main folder or some other specified folder. Don't ever remember seeing one in the data folder itself. Would help me to know this to help with other issue of installing the mod I'm testing and having it put the ini in the data folder and not the specified folder in the config folder where it should have been installed. I'm trying to determine if FOMM is messing it up.

Ok figured out the issue with FOMM. It wasn't FOMM afterall. I sort of had a bit of tunnel vision and kept overlooking the fact that file I was installing actually had the data/config/ini file in a folder. So FOMM I guess just went ahead and dumped the ini into the data folder. Not sure why... Any I removed data/config/ini from the folder it was in and then saved that as a zip and it then installed correctly. And yes if I was using MO it would have picked up on the mod not set up correctly.
