Texture/Mesh issue

Post by RedGalaxy00 » Sat Jan 17, 2015 3:14 am

As the title says. The textures for some of the weapons aren't fitting like they should. So far, I've found the issue with the Sniper Rifle, the .357 Revolver, and the Chinese Assault Rifle (as seen in the imgur link below)

I don't know what the issue is, but if someone could help point in the the right direction, I'd appreciate it.

It's an issue with PN re-adding weapons from F3, you'll have to delete the files it adds. Other mods that do similar things and did not change the path's for the nif's will also cause these issues.

The .357 issue is usually related to WRP

Never seen an issue with the Sniper Rifle.

Could you give me a hint on what files I'm looking for, so I can delete? (I've never gone that far into my Data directory...)

It's in the PN patch thread somewhere. Just browse through the thread and you'll find them.

Well, that fixed the Sniper Rifle, but not the Chinese Assualt Rifle or the 357 revolver. I'll check over WRP mod to see what I can do about the revolver... but I'm honestly at a lost. This is not my area of expertise.

*EDIT: With the CAR, it appears to be an issue with the FNVEdit merge patch...

So, does anyone have any idea how I might fix the issue with the 357 (which appears to be caused, as Roy said, by the WRP) and the CAR (which is not broken due to the FNVEdit merged patch, so I'm not sure what the issue is...)?

Yes.

Yes.

You could:

Load all of the mods you are using in your load order into edit. Look at which mods override the records for the guns in question, last. Look at the filepaths for that weapon for its 1stperson and regular models. Find those in NV\Data. Open them up in NifSkope and figure out which textures they use. Make sure you're using the correct textures. Make sure you're using the correct .nifs. The WRP replaces many of the game's weapon models in addition to textures. If you're using both it and WMX, there is a guide for how to make sure that the .357 revolver specifically in addition to a few other weapons do not use the incorrect textures or models.

From the WMX page on the nexus for the WRP-WMX patch:

Reading the installation instructions in the WMX-WRP readme is strongly advised.

Now WRP is installed correctly. (I feel silly for having figured that out before...) As for the Chinese Assault Rifle...

They are, just inside of a .bsa.
