Aliens can't use their own rifles.

Recently got into Zeta, and I noticed that Zetans don't actually use the rifles, they just sit there kind of slumping with them, not firing.

Not sure as to why you are seeing that, but then again without some sort of background as to your setup, NO ONE will know. Remember to follow these instructions.

That issue is I think fixed in the next release.

I had fixed it, I set them to TwoHandEnergy or whatever in the geck, and now aliens can use them, and the proper animation is set now on firstperson.
