Tesla Backpack Troubles

Post by MarchUntoTorment » Sun Nov 30, 2014 8:08 am

So, as some of you already know, I've spent the last few weeks working on a power armour overhaul mod, along with a conversion of COL Enclave.

However, I'm running into an odd problem with the Tesla Armor. You see, the default Tesla Armor actually has its backpack as a separate item, while the COL version has it integrated into the .nif. Whenever I equip Tesla Armor, I actually get two backpacks - one where it should be on the COL .nif, and one a little further back.

I'm wondering if anyone knows what causes the second tesla backpack to be automatically equipped? I'm deeply and profoundly confused, and quite irritated, since until this is fixed, I can't release my mod. Please note that it is NOT a script effect on either item.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Best regards,

Check the section about the Biped Model List. I'm pretty sure that's what your problem is. http://geck.bethsoft.com/index.php?title=Armor

Grib nailed it. I use loads of daejones stuff in my own personal replacer and saw this quirk.

Just look at the biped model list the tesla armor uses. It's a formlist that has the backpack, gloves and sparks etc in it.

Just copy that formlist as an override into your mods esm/esp, delete the tesla backpack out and you're good to go.

Another side note, most of daejones textures can be optimized with the ordenador, however it will break a few dds's related to his hellfire, and his bos t51. You can just restore the individual broken dds files after optimising though. It really is worth doing too as daejones textures are pretty meaty and lag inducing.

Thanks, everyone! I'll have a quick go over Daejones' textures, too, Shardoom.

The help is greatly appreciated! I'll drop back in if I have trouble fixing it, but it sounds like a simple enough thing to handle.
