Companion Mod Troubles - Perk Allocation?

This is almost certainly an obvious question, but I'm really struggling with this one.


I've got a companion mod that's in the works. All good fun and suchlike. However, whenever I try to apply his perk, it doesn't work - it doesn't show up in game. I'm clearly doing something wrong, but I have no idea what.


I've tried a few things, but nothing's worked. I'm not having any luck here. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I've attached the .esp for a far more gifted modder to take a quick look through and tell me what I did wrong in trying to make my perks work.


Tag for all mod-related content is tagged SG6 for convenience's sake. The second perk was an attempt to recreate it identically, which I had no more luck with.

Alright, so...


New problem. The script seems to work, but it's unreliable as all hell.


First time I hired him, it didn't activate. Second try, it did give me the perk - but when I fired him, it didn't go away.


Anyone know what's going on?


EDIT: Aaaaaaand we're back to it not firing.


Oh, and Roy, I didn't change it to 'AddPerk Player SG6NullPerk', on the grounds that, for reasons unknown, it refused to compile that line at all, for some reason.


I'm really annoyed and confused here. Anyone know what's going on with my script? It seems totally busted, yet I can't see what I did wrong. Reverse-engineering other scripts gave me player.AddPerk, which only seems to work occasionally.
