Mart's Mutant Mod Dynamic Player Scaling/Disappearing Hair and Decals/Small Flickering White Dots.

Post by djwhitfield » Fri Aug 29, 2014 1:20 am

Hello there,

I am having a serious issue with MMMs DPS. I have had the DPS set to change every 4 levels and I am now level 42 and so far they only thing I had is different variety of harder monsters, not increased spawns. I had it working before in a previous play though, I am pretty sure that Master Menu in the Pipboy was lit green, however its grayed out now for some reason. I have added other mods since then, but I have just completed cleaned my load order and mods and still no luck.

Same goes for a problem I am having where in certain areas of interior and exterior locations, if I look I can see decals flickering in and out of existence. When I stand in these areas my hair disappears as well as any other NPCs stood in these areas. I thought this might be due to a lighting and weather mods I installed, however uninstalling them had no fix. I got no idea what is causing it.

My final problem is not so major, but sometimes I see bright white dots appearing into existence as I am moving. Had this with all my play thoughs.

Thanks very much for your help.

Will provide a loadorder.

That's around 200 mods, which is about 100 more than the game can run without getting glitchy.

It was 187 plugins.

It was 187 plugins.

I ended up finding the solution and it wasn't the amount of plugins. For the disappearing hair and decals it was just Vending Machines Of The Wastes. Gonna contact the author now.

Still have not solved the MMM problems. Gonna post on the page about it.

And as for the white dots I disabled and uninstalled all mods and I still had it. Maybe an ini problem.

White dots are an indication

White dots are an indication of video ram failure.

I tried it on its own without all the plugins and it still happened. So its no the fault of the plugins. True when I go into the 200 range textures go weird because its happened to me previously.

Also, during the times of going over 200 plugins it was missing meshes with the red explanation mark, textures turning pink, switching between textures, and it did not involve disappearing hair or disappearing decals.

I messaged him this on the Vending Machines Of The Wastes Nexus Page.

"Hello there Gribbleshnibit8.

Loving the mod. I been using it for a week or so now. Endorsed.

However I been plagued by annoying flashing hair textures and disappearing decals such as blood on the floor or newspaper junk.

For some very odd reason, I narrowed it down to this mod. After uninstalling the mod the issue disappeared.

I will post a link to the TTW page where I posted about my issue before discovering the solution.

I didn't know if to post on your TTW page or here. But you was most recently active here it seems."

Gribbles is a team member

Post by JaxFirehart » Sat Aug 30, 2014 2:55 am

Gribbles is a team member here and around frequently. Sometimes too many plugins can actually ruin the save itself and there isn't much you can do at that point. Gribbles is a top class modder and his scripts are immaculate. Everybody around here is telling you what is common knowledge around here: don't go over the 140 mod limit and try not to go over 100 mods. Through a bug in the game it LITERALLY starts to break at 140. At that point mods start encroaching on base game data (its more complex than that, but thats the gist).

Also just to add that even

Post by Risewild » Sat Aug 30, 2014 4:20 am

Also just to add that even with mods disabled as long as the esm and esp files are in your data folder the game will still count them even if it doesn't load them ingame (so if you have 145 active plugins and 15 inactive the game will still count as having 160 plugins), I am not knowledgeable about why it does that, but I think that the game actually reads all the plugins to see which ones it will load and use during the game play or something similar.

So in short, if you disable a mod because you don't want to use it or it is causing problems, then you should uninstall it instead and get rid of all the files and folders added by that mod to your data folder.
