NMC missing textures issue

Post by lustephelon » Thu Jan 02, 2014 10:51 pm

Issue: I am trying to install a merged FO3 and FONV NMC.  My attempts were made using the performance pack for FO3 and the Small pack for FONV.  I loaded the pdf instructions for doing this and ran through the process step by step. both files .esp and .bsa suceed in creation.  I select the esp, and during the load in sequence I have a bright all purple screen, the main menu pops and then I can enter game where some textures are failing.

I have deleted and recreated the files and the same issue occurs. I also went to a minimum TTW load, (only the official files and TTW)  and once the esp is added the issue occurs.

Request: any suggestions, specific settings in BSAOPT or GECK that might cause it?

If I did the creation twice once for each game, then put the PONV last and made a new merge patch, would the two patches work without conflict?  if so, it might let me troubleshoot better since I could test each portion seperately. and still have the check/uncheck flexibility.

Information:

TTW 2.4a

phenom 965 quad, 32 GB ram, ati 6950 1gb

NVSE, 4GB.   Installer FOMM 1.4, geck 1.4, bsaopt x64.

Archive invalidation done by FOMM, toggled.

Without the esp checked, the game operates normally, just not as pretty/gritty as it should be.

Haha, RAM is cheap now a days! Still, I don't think I've ever used about 6GB personally. Anyway, I had a similar problem. For the life of me, I coudn't get the esm method to work. Try dropping the loose meshes and texture folder into your data folder and see what happens.

RAM was cheap, the price the last quarter and the holiday deals were very poor this year compared to the last two.  The 32 works great for gaming cause you can RAM drive stuff if you want, though I don't do much of that these days.

Thanks for the suggestion Thatchor, the issue is I had some odd conflicts with textures/meshes and some of the mods I want to use later (FONV face replacers and possibly some poco bueno) so I wanted something I could pull in and out.  IF needs be i'll do a full folder copy as a backup and try loose files.

Several of the TTW devs have 16, 24, or 32 gb ram.

My project Dash is on Kickstarter!
