Working on Converting the Underground Hideout

I am working on converting the underground hideout, and also trying to see if I can get danthegeek interested in taking a look at TTW.


I'm having a strange issue where the maniquinns are spawning in the hallway in front of the player when you walk in the room. AND strangely enough they spawn for a split second in front of you everytime you do a mapchange, even OUTSIDE the hideout, crazy. Does anyone know what could be causing this.


Also, I have done the conversion steps that the FAQ says to do, but someone told me that the FAQ doesn't tell you how to update the scripts, that you have to boot it into GECK to update them, where is the tutorial for that? I checked the FAQ backwards and forwards I didn't see a link to THOSE steps. Any help would be appreciated.

Then you just open the mod in GECK, open every script contained in the mod (Open it in TESSnip for reference, as it shows just what's in the mod whereas GECK shows every script loaded) one at a time and simply save. If there's a FOSE (or bad modding) issue, it'll tell you what line it's on, and common sense will help you to fix it.


See there? The FAQ said most of that. Never you mind what someone told you just go have a read for yourself.

thanks, perhaps the FAQ should be updated with your extra paragraph, I wasn't sure what to do after I got all the stuff installed.


To clearify which GECK do I open the mod in, FO3 Geck or FNV GECK?

Any time you want to compile, or in this case recompile, a script to work with New Vegas all one needs to do is save said script in the GECK. Doesn't matter if it's FOSE or not, as long as you have NVSE and can figure things out if there's an issue.


 


It's good practice to recompile the scripts on any mod you modify, if for other reason than you're already there you might as find out if any of them are causing problems in game.

Have a look at the video I made, I was able to convert it and load it up in the GECK without a problem. However there is LOTS of scripts bugs and other things in this mod, and also the patch for it.
