So I wanted to give the Ties That Bind for TTW conversion a shot, because I never got to play it on vanilla Fallout 3. However, because the mod has a custom hair for Amanda it conflicts with any hair mods I use. Either TTB removes the hairs from the hair mod, or the hair mod reverts Amanda to a very generic hairstyle depending on which is loaded first. Is there any way for two mods that add custom hair to work together? I don't want to revert to using vanilla hair, because honestly I've never been a fan of most of the choices.
Will different hair mods play nicely?

The easiest way is to use a Bashed Patch, i.e. the patch that comes with Wrye Flash. Not sure how familiar you are with it, so here's a miniguide:
1. Download and install Wrye Flash, easiest with the standalone executable.
2. Copy Bashed Patch, 0.esp from Fallout New Vegas\Mopy\templates to Fallout New Vegas\Data
3. Run Wrye Flash and place the Bashed Patch, 0.esp last (with some exceptions, but it should load very late).
4. Add the bash tag Hair to the hair mods you want to work together. Some come already with bash tags. Otherwise, highlight the esp > Right-click in the Bash tag window in the bottom-right and choose Hair in the list.
5. Rebuild the Bashed Patch. Right-click it > Rebuild patch > Check Race Records and the mods that are tagged in it (i.e. the ones you tagged in 4) > Build patch
That should be it.
Note that you can use the same procedure to get different mods adding Eyes etc. playing nicely together as well. Same procedure but with the Eyes bash tag instead.

I think we have been over
I think we have been over this to death already in the Bashed Patch or Merged Patch thread, so I won't repeat myself in this thread. Yes, one thing - you say that "no mods actually have tags". That's simply not true - check the BOSS masterlists for FO3 and FNV.
EDIT: You're right about FNVEdit doing it automatically when creating a Merged Patch, though. Didn't know that - FO3Edit doesn't. So, yes, creating a Merged Patch handles this easier with FNV/TTW. And you'd want a Merged Patch anyway.
