That's really weird. Wonder why it does that. I'll have to look into it at some point. Not sure why it doesn't work, or how the icon can get messed up to the current grenade type, since it checks against a list and compares base forms to decide the icon to show.

Yeah. Also, when a save

Post by tizerist » Sun Jul 21, 2013 9:12 pm

Yeah. Also, when a save encounters it, the process cannot be reversed. So I ran through the DLC with tgm cheat on, with only the above mods. Then before the boss with the sword, I saved and turned all mods back on. The glitch only happened when OHud was activated while finishing the DLC.

I will attempt a clean dlc playthrough with everything bar OHud now just to clarify. No choice really, but I will report back.

Thanks everyone.

Yes, I uninstalled it

Yes, I uninstalled it temporarily, to uninstall ohud. Now uhud is back in and first tests show it to be ok, although I have yet to run through the dlc again

If the grenade hotkey stops

Post by Runnerblank » Sun Feb 09, 2014 11:44 pm

If the grenade hotkey stops working at all, then try this.

It fixed my problem.

From an earlier posting:

------------

There were some unsafe parts in the grenade hotkey script that could make it stop working in rare cases. It will be fixed in the next version.

Besides waiting for the next version or trying it with a clean safe, the following might fix it:

1. Disable the grenade hotkey in the menu.

2. Exit the menu, then save the game.

3. Restart the game, load your saved game.

4. Check which Mod Index Project Nevada - Core.esm has in FOMM.

5. Type

ResetQuest XX004756

in the console, where XX is replaced by the mod index from step 4.

6. Enable the grenade hotkey again.

------------

It worked for the person who had the problem back then.

Always bring a companion or two that is slower than you.
Because you don't need to out run a Deathclaw.
You just need to out run your companions (Just bring a lot of companions in case the Deathclaw is really hungry!).

Right, firstly, oops, it

Post by tizerist » Mon Feb 17, 2014 5:52 pm

Right, firstly, oops, it happened again. This time without uHud. It didn't happen straight away this time, it was only when I came back to that save afterwards that I noticed it. Again, completing OA is my main suspicion as to why it happened.

Secondly, thanks Runnerblank. Seeing as that post was from 2011 it looks like it may never be fixed. I was the one who reported a nasty PN bug which led to the new, current version being uploaded. But PN was still kinda a WIP at that time, and there will quite clearly not be any new updates for PN. Unless, Grib can insert a solution in the upcoming PN Extra Options update. I will mention it to him.

I don't really fancy using the above posted fix. What if it happens again? I'd rather drop the grenade hotkey altogether if it keeps disappearing like that tbh. Thanks all the same though.

I found a fix, but don't

Post by tizerist » Sat Mar 08, 2014 10:06 pm

I found a fix, but don't really know what part of what I did that fixed it.

I found I was getting patchy indoor lighting, it was blocky, not natural. So I loaded the NV launcher and tried HDR and Bloom lighting instead of None, my preferred choice. This fixed the lighting and, somehow, brought the grenade icon back. Must be something to do with how the launcher 'refreshes' the .ini.

I then had to modify the fallout.ini after to get my Darn settings, among other tweaks, to work.

I tried making the same lighting change in the NVConfigator, but it didn't didn't change lighting modes weirdly.  Madness. Hope it doesn't happen again. Luckily I learnt during my Oblivion days that it pays to write down every .ini change that you write down carefully. :)

Edit: Gone again
