Quest Fixes

Post by eezstreet » Mon Mar 02, 2015 9:24 pm

Greetings, I've decided to change focus and instead deal with glaring quest problems in both FO3 and New Vegas' quests. I will also make some unmarked quests marked, such as Our Little Secret and the Rivet City council quest.

I will be updating periodically with fixes that I've made, but this is a general discussion thread for now until I deem the fixes stable enough.

Blood Ties

  • The radio just outside of The Family's Hideout is no longer owned by Robert, so turning it off won't make him hostile.

  • You can no longer use the dialogue option "Hang on a second. I have a letter for Ian West from his sister." on Robert to get through the gate if you haven't actually spoken to Evan King in Arefu about where Ian might be.

Our Little Secret

  • Fixed a typo in dialogue with Jack Smith ("The difference between us is that that I'm the one bringing home the bacon.")

  • Fixed another typo, this time with a dialogue choice with Bill Wilson ("Old Man Harris doesn't seen (seem) too happy.")

Stealing Independence

  • Fixed a bug where the line "It has to be the Declaration of Independence." when speaking to Abraham Washington initially would ONLY trigger if you had Intelligence 7, not anything above that.

  • Bill of Rights is no longer marked as a quest item.

The Superhuman Gambit

  • The ants in the initial battle in Canterbury Commons now have a name (they were blank before)

I've been looking at Arefu

Post by eezstreet » Tue Mar 03, 2015 8:40 pm

I've been looking at Arefu and The Family. According to the Fallout wikia, The Family and Arefu join factions after you've convinced Ian to leave The Family. If you then kill The Family, Arefu becomes hostile. I'm having a difficult time finding the actual bit of script that controls this.

As a side effect, this may also affect Andale, but I haven't found anything in the factions that would support this.

I got one for you which I

I got one for you which I just experienced:

According to wiki, after peaceful resolution of the G.I. Blues quest in NV:

"While the NCR troopers are shooting at Pacer, they will not be present in the ruined store, nor will any of the squatters from the NCR. After the shootout, the NCR will return to the building."

However what happened in my game is they all got toggled to disabled. I've found out later since I wanted Major Kieran for other mod's quest (Coito Ergo Sum mod) and found the shop empty. After doing prid 10d8e9 enable she reappeared behind the train station to CW and walked to the empty shop upon which point normal dialogue with her could be resumed.

Kill me again or take me as I am, for I shall not change.

I'm going to redirect these

I'm going to redirect these fixes into TTW Fixes. But I still would like to know about quest bugs.

Are you sure this isn't due to a mod conflict of any sort? I don't seem to recall having this problem when I visited NV in TTW last.
