New to TWW and curious about some mod related things

Post by Proximitus » Mon Feb 02, 2015 7:55 pm

So I came across a picture that mentioned TWW and after some research, I was very excited to install it myself! I always wanted to have a combined wasteland, traveling from one to another.

About the mod related curiosity, in what way is it possible to use some of the mods I'm using, and do I really need to install them or have they been fixed in the game itself? I'm talking about the FO3 mod "tenpenny tower true peace", a mod where ghouls and people live side by side in the tower; the Jsawyer mod, that adds a little bit more to the mojave wasteland by changing some things, relocating the couriers stash gifts across the wasteland.

Also, I tend to make my own armor mods to use ingame, using an enhanced vault suit in FO3 with spare armor parts to keep my vault history alive, and some cowboylike outfit in FO NV because, well, obviously you are in a western-like world right? In what way can I still use them or do I have to convert them to FO NV standards? Or does someone has a nice lore-friendly mod that fits in both worlds?

Other mods that I use, like Fellout and nevada skies, are already converted so I'm not worrying about those :)

well, for starters, TTW is a FNV mod, so fo3 mods will likely not work without converting them first.  that said, the majority of NV mods will work with TTW (although some of them are weird about how they determine when/where things are, because they're not built for the capital wasteland being around), and the ones that are known to be giant no-nos are listed in the FAQ.

Thanks for the quick reply! I also came across the fact that the unofficial fallout/yup patches don't have to be installed anymore? I know myself, always end up doing something wrong xD

Ah well, going to install it anyway, can't wait to try it out! And for what I saw, the community here is very nice, so I won't be afraid to ask around if necessary :)

Some of the already converted

Some of the already converted mods can be found here ... https://taleoftwowastelands.com/content/directory-ttw-converted-mods

If you do not see the mod you are looking for, use the search, not all mod conversions are listed in the directory.

For installing mods, only use FOMM Fork or Mod Organizer.

I've been playing for about an hour now and I must say, it's great!! Ok, I cheated a little bit to find out how the transition worked out, but it works like a charm! Off to find myself some adventures :)

It really is amazing isn't it? Mod authors never get enough credit for the gifts they give us.

Haha, you can never have enough pizza indeed! But indeed, they deserve alot of credit, I mean, Columbus Circle looks just like some other vanilla area of the game! Took me a while to find Union Station, probably because there was no door marker on my local map. Fun little quest too!

Maybe an idea to make the station more crowded though? I can't imagine that I would be the only one that wants to travel back and forth the different wastelands
