FNNCQ 1 - converted and testing status

As I mentioned recently in the Amy Wong thread, I did a basic TTW conversion of FNNCQ recently.  The last couple of days, I've been testing it out.


So far so good.  The petstore spawns fine, David seems to be fully operational, the basic baton-enslaving mechanism works fine.  I haven't done the scripted training sequences yet, nor the related quests.  But the basic enslaving system is working at least.


I'm going to continue running it through its paces, and will upload if it continues to be this bug-free.


Sesom: you said that some of the mod relied on buggy FO3 code that was fixed in FNV.  What elements should I expect to see broken at this point?  Should I be directing my testing anywhere specific?

It's about cell loading mostly. FO3 keeps references in memory after you leaving the cell which it shouldn't. Most of the bugs we had to fix for TTW was about this change in FO3.


For FNNCQ 1 that means:

Leave a respawnable slave (common Raider for example) in a building and don't visit this cell for four days. A good test for example is your Megaton home. The slave should be still the same (not respawned).


The MCC (mobile collar controller) is a similar case here. Place a slave under MCC control in the landscape :) leave at foot (not fasttravel, this should work) and wait three days on a another far away place and check if he has respeawned (which shouldn't happen).


It's the same with Davids prison.


Basically the respawn protection that I made is broken under the NV engine afaik.
