Yeah, I don't see any possible conflict there. People who don't care as much get the textures beforehand, and will get the rebalances as soon as they're out. People who'd rather have both at the same time do.

I personally don't see any harm in releasing just the textures as a "test". I'll get something rigged together tomorrow/Friday after I finish The Kneecapper. Normally I don't like releasing a half-finished product, but in this case, each weapon is complete so it's not as bad. Also, I'd like to ensure maximum compatibility with mods (WMX and EVE come to mind), and I don't really have time to play the game to test these out but you guys do.

Concept Kneecapper... Until I released I was confusing it with the Terrible shotgun. Thankfully only twenty minutes of work went into it. :P

Dude, that shotgun is so badass.



I was wondering, when you do these textures, what comes to your mind?

What i mean is, like that shotgun, why did you texture it like that to look so bloody?? (This is not an insult, on the contrary, it is actually a compliment, because so far ALL your retextures are wonderful works) your imagination for the weapons really works out very well.

It's a long complicated process. :) Each weapon is different and has different responses. I fully intend to write out why I did each one the way I did in the Google Doc (link on the front page).

I was thinking of the terrible shotgun (unique combat shotgun) when making it, which is owned by a raider. So this design, in part, will be what the terrible shotgun will look like. I'm glad I realized this now and not before I redid the metal/wood and modified the mesh. It'll be pretty beat up on the outside, with some caution tape on it, and SOME blood (not as much as currently is on it). I more or less wanted feedback on how the actual blood texture looked; I plan on adding a bit of hardened gore chucks on there too, along with many scratches in a tally mark pattern for kills (I wanted to do this and when I saw Jax requested it for this weapon I was like YES!), along with some raider slang. Maybe a sling if I can get it looking alright. [/collapsed]

It'll be a lighter blue with green accents possibly (Jax, should I change the color of the beam to blue?), and I'm thinking about throwing some old style superhero "bubbles" on there like "WAM!" and "POW". I feel like kids would idolize superheroes and this is appropiate for them. It'll be slightly beat up since kids aren't particularly careful.[/collapsed]

Terrible Shotgun with blood and gore? Lol m8 i would pay for that.



I actualyl had an idea for one of the weapons, Mostly for the Xuanlong.  Is there a chance to have it retextud aswell, with what i would like to see, some sort of "Anti-American Trophy" hanging ? Or , similar to the 'Murica rifle, a chinese flag?

The blood textures looks fantastic :D The caution tape is hard to notice under all of that though. I'm not sure whether it'd make sense for the tape to look fresh, but it might visually look better.

On delay (not even hold), JUST FOR A COUPLE DAYS. I need to spend time with an old friend that I was deployed with as she's being deployed again and just needs someone. I do have progress made on the terrible shotgun, but it looks terrible (pardon the pun) as I haven't done anything yet besides overlay textures that may look good. I'm also trying to finish my PN patch which I promised a release yesterday, but I got lazy.


Regardless, expect the next release soon.

Fisto! is completed. I didn't really have a lot of work off of for this one. No lore as far as I know.The only thing I know is that it is found in a power station full of ghouls. By the time I usually get this weapon, there is glowing ones in the power plant, so I based it around that. Something used when the glowing ones came out. :P As such, it's in roughish shape, glowing one blood (green) and even has a mushroom growing out the side. As always, thoughts please!

EDIT: And just for the heck of it, here's a WIP Terrible Shotgun.




  • The blood will not be so plentiful.


  • The metal on the gun will be rusty, more scratched up, and less bloody.


  • The bayonet will be tied on with barbed wire.


  • The stock will be a little bit cleaner/better done.


  • The trigger guard will look like brass knuckles.

EDIT 2: I just saw your idea for the unique Chinese Assault Rifle. I like the Chinese flag idea. I'll try and incorporate it one way or another. It should have a dragon somewhere on it though.
