I really enjoy playing TTW. But I hate finding New Vegas weapons in DC. I was wondering exactly how hard it would be to remove ALL traces of them from DC, and if it can even be done without breaking New Vegas. I understand how to use the GECK and FNVEdit to alter leveled lists. But i believe that some FNV weapons are actually hand placed into the world? How would I locate all of them? Is there a list?
How hard would it be to remove FNV weapons from DC?

You'll have to duplicate all
You'll have to duplicate all the leveled lists, Vendor lists, loot lists, weapon lists and ammo lists, a great deal of the NPC's and most of the containers. Edit them all to remove the NV Exclusive items. Replace all the instances of them in the Fallout 3 areas with the New duplicated forms, edit the remaining exclusive to Fallout 3 NPC's to use the new lists.
Should only take you about a 6 months (generous estimate) or so if you work on it for 8-10 hours a day. Then you'll have to spend countless hours testing the changing and correcting mistakes. All it in all you can probably have a working mod to do what you want in about a year. The GECK Wiki and FNVEdit training manual will be a big help on this endevour, as well as the mod author community at large to answer questions when you run into problem. It would probably be a good idea to invest some time into learning pascal so you can create scripts for FNVEdit to make the replacement process go quicker.

I figured it would be
I figured it would be difficult once I took a good look at how many things the games actually share. I will try to make this happen, I am sure that there are many people who would like a more vanilla Fo3 experience. Wish me luck.
