Fallout Canada

Post by rockitten » Fri Mar 21, 2014 8:35 am

Okay, I have the idea when I was discussing another mod idea (Fallout UK http://taleoftwowastelands.com/content/fallout-uk-fuk ), the feed back seems positive but that's for discussing his mod, so I better discuss it here. My modding/programming skill will never be able to complete such project in time, so if anyone interested to take-over this idea into a project, please let me know.

Background history:

In Fallout world canon, for the Canadian, the annexation of Canada is absolutely not a happy one. Before the bomb fell, Canadians were either working as forced labor in concentration camps (by the name of "war efforts" and "security measurements"). Those didn't were either joined the resistance or suffering starvation.

Most Canadian were perished when Chinese bombed the concentration camps (they thought those are military facilities), There weren't many Vaults in Canada , so most surviving Canadians were either became ghouls or the decedents of those who joined the resistance (their underground tunnels saved them). No matter ghoul or not, most surviving Canadian have a hostile (or at least, unfriendly) attitude towards the yanks, both because of the occupation and more importantly, Canadian considered themselves being dragged into this nuclear doom by the yanks. And this hatred is enhanced by many Ghouls (especially those from Quebec) who speak French are more likely to get killed as the yanks thought they are feral (coz they can't speak English......).

Map:

The story will happens around the great lake region, the bottom left hand cornea of the map will be the Brother of Steel strong hold in Detroit, a Canadian city called London will be on the top right cornea. The environment will be similar to the map in operation Anchorage: nuclear winter after war, makes mosts part of Canada frozen and inhospitable even for the Mongolians, Inuits or Eskimos. The lake were frozen and very radioactive as all nuclear fallout in the rivers ended up in the lakes). Without proper clothing, player will not survive for more than 10 minutes (wet clothes can kill, unless it is a diving suit).

The quest:

When the player is taking a journey between the two wasteland, a section of railway bridge is collapsed. To get out of this hellhole, the player has to help fixing the bridge, either by getting help from local factions, or help BoS to "secure the area".

Major factions:

BoS Mid West chapters (semi canon in fallout tactics)

The "Mongolians": A mix of Eskimo, Inuit and the Eskimos. They are the one who inspire those who name the clan "Khans" in fallout 1/2 and FNV

Xenas: An Amazon women tribe from the descendants of vault 69. They are being taught that men are "stupid, lazy and dirty scum bags, the only reason for men very existence is for their "fluids". The orgion behind this brainwashing and no man policy was because the "alpha male" in the vault too busy with other girls and "cannot preform his duty" with the overseer........

CPF (Canadian People's Front) and PFC (People's Front of Canada) : They are semi canons in fallout tactics http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Canada . They were initially one resistance group against the American occupations. Before the great war, they parted ways over a "fundamental dispute": should side with china to fight the yanks or not), and since then, they fight among themselves even more than fighting against the yanks........ "Which one first? People or Canada?" is the question they ask the player to identify friend or foe and for the player to pick side). The current local leader of the PFC is a French speaking "Canadian" called Terrence (2 "r" for the French origin) and the local leader of CPF is a English speaking Canadian called Phillips.

The new Enclave: After the destruction of Raven rocks, remaining Enclave setup a new base in Canada as they are too weak to confront the Commonwealth in NY

potential factions:

Commonwealth scouts

Legion remnants

Major locations

Detroit: The crime and unemployment capital even before the war. The bombs totally destroy the city and the craters are now part of the Great Lakes. The lake is highly radioactive, so much so that locals will warn player "don't shit on the ice or you will get radiation burns". The BoS strong hold is a beached nuclear submarine (similar to the shi in FO2) and the only reason BoS is there is because there are some "interesting stuff" at the bottom of the lake.

North Park: Once a small American boarder town, now occupied by the "Mongolians". There is a pre-war restaurant called "City Wok", which the occupant before the war was a Chinese spy. The location for major quest item to solve the dispute between the CPF and PFC.

Vault 69: A vault experiment with 999 women and one man. Rumor said no traveler enter the vault ever come out. The vault is now occupied by the Xenas, an all female decedents of vault 69. Player entered the vault will be knocked down at the entrance. If the player is female, she will be introduced to join the group ( and gain the Cherchez La Femme perk). If the player is male, he will be undergoes a test called "snoo snoo" with the love machine (sperm suction pump with anal prop force ejection). Player can leave the vault either by fight their way out, or convince the group to open to the wasteland through a series of quests and dialog checks. This vault also holds a major quest item.

French Town: An underground hideout occupied by a group of pre-war Canadian ghouls from Quebec. The whole wasteland is practically an English speaking area, but they refuse to speak English and only speak French even if that may cost their life. They attitude to the outside world is somewhat similar to those in Tenpenny tower: Anything French is great and only French stuff is good. They considered themselves as the most "civilized" group in the wasteland, but they don't even have a working toilet other than a shovel ......

CPF base: Located near London, it is the HQ of CPF in the area. Used to be the underground save for Bank of Canada. Rumor says there is still some gold over there, both BoS and Enclave take this rumor seriously.

PFC base: Located near Sarnia, it is the HQ of PFC in the area. The place was used to be a high school, so it has plenty of books and Ice hockey gears. As PFC sided with the Chinese before the war and make-up mostly be the French speaking Canadian, there will be lots of chinese and French "influence" in the interior. As they have the only working green house in the game, Both BoS and Enclave are keen to takeover this place as food source.

Vault Canada (assign a number to it): A vault experiment which the society has turned upside down: the Canadian is now the overseers and security, and the yanks are the one being governed. The vault is now occupied by mutated beavers.

New Item:

Ice Hockey stick (weapon)

Ice Hockey armor

donut (food item)

baguette (the French bread), made by flour, yeast and hotplate/oven. It is a weapon item, and there is an unique version called "Napoleon" - a "hardened baguette". If craft with water and hotplate, it will become a food item: bread

Maple syrup (can be as crafting item for sweet drinks, and also use as glue)

Eskimo consume

Royal Canadian Mounted Police Consume

Onion

French Fries (craft by potato and pan)

Ski gears

new creatures:

Mutated beaver

White Yau Gai (mutated polar bear)

The angry feet (mutated giant penguins, if walking on the ice, they will attack player and NPC from below)

dog sled (as a substitute of Brahmin)

Read carefully, Terrence and Phillips are the leaders of CFP and PFC, I also have "North Park" and City Wok (with Mongolians" as well.....

BTW, I know we have French speaking person(s) in this forum, they are very welcome to suggest more "French materials" (especially French jokes) as I am not familiar with French.....

Maybe instead of French Fries, call it Poutine.

I like this idea. There should be a Trailer Park Boy's reference though since it takes place in Canada. Maybe there can be 3 drug dealers named Rick, Bubbles, and Jules. Also they live in a trailer with a busted ass broken down car out front.
