Also tying in are the Enclave

Post by retlaw83 » Wed Mar 27, 2013 10:33 pm

Also tying in are the Enclave remnants in NV. Normal people who believe in ideals with nasty leaders.

As for Autumn, he kills a bunch of civilians then tries to back away from his plan to kill more when it's too late. Not to mention the massive plothole where he dies at the same time as dad then magically comes back to life.

If you watch, he takes a pill

If you watch, he takes a pill of some sort as your dad is telling you to run, I think we can safely assume it was like Concentrated Rad-X and Radaway or something. I hated the Remnants

I thought he injects himself? Takes out a needle of some kind? That's what the animation looked like to me at least.

I hear a lot of people say

Post by retlaw83 » Thu Mar 28, 2013 10:55 am

I hear a lot of people say that, but I still don't buy it.  Am I to believe that Autumn has the only super-duper rad-x in the world and he used it right before a radiation event he wasn't expecting?

I don't understand how anyone could hate the Remnants.  They are a group of idealists who, though elderly, can be reminded that they have principles and the equipment to fight for those principles.  If you do things correctly, one of their endings has them become something like a post-apocalyptic A-Team.

As I wrote in another

Post by sesom » Thu Mar 28, 2013 6:32 pm

As I wrote in another occasion here I try to avoid threads and discussions here where "Bethesda's Fallout 3 shouldn't happened"  stuff is going on and only talk about this on the Bethesda forum. TTW is a mod that shows a lot of love and effort for Fallout 3 and to get that pat of the story working on the NV engine.

But I get angry when I read sentences like "I hear a lot of people say that,":

It's not only just a say.

In this situation the package MQ05ColonelAutumnDeathPackage plays the MQ05RadDeathColAutumn animation at the end which contains a inject in the arm animation. Which if the viewing angle is good can be seen by the player.

So it is a fact that Autumn injects something.

You can believe what you want. It's your game and your play through and I am perfectly fine with it. Bethesda doesn't give any explanation what particular he injects himself.

I am not talking here about if this story make sense for you, me or if it is a good one or not. It's about the fact that the animation is played and most of the player can see it.

Please don't bring the constant FO3 bashing attitude with wrong facts (I know a lot of them used to discredit Bethesdas FO3, watching NMA, Bethesda Forums over the years) here on this forum.

As I wrote in my intro is TTW a mod that respects the actual Fallout 3. At least that's how I understand the massive effort to get the old game running on the new engine and why I support it with my work.

The constant hammering of arguments why it has to be bad (or not a good Fallout game how the new wording is) from some "so called" fans in other forums is horrible demotivating. So if you want to be able to tailor your dream Fallout 3 (like we all do who are modding ;) ) with resources from other modders who care about Bethesdas FO3 (like TTW) I strongly recommend to be very careful in this regard.

If I did not care for Fallout

Post by LT Albrecht » Thu Mar 28, 2013 9:46 pm

If I did not care for Fallout 3 I would not have sunk ~1000 hours into it then tagged along with the effort to merge it with New Vegas. :P I like it, I just think it could do with a little ...improvement. Overall the story could work, it has some plotholes that need filling (like why the Enclave are so strategically incompetent) but it can be done. That and some more stuff in the settlements, but I started doing that myself a while back and will probably go back to it over the summer.

Anyway, my point was if you look at the Enclave from F2 and F3 the picture is continuous. This also has the alarming consequence that all of a sudden working with the Enclave looks like collaborating with the (in game) Nazis. They're genocidal xenophobes who see everyone else as little above feral ghouls and would not hesitate for a second to wipe them out. Oh, and that's all under the guise of the US flag and American Patriotism.

In my Broken Steel missions, I plan on giving the player a choice to affect change in the Enclave, or make things nasty. Also through my new character, General Cotter, I plqn on portraying an Enclave that has learned through some of it's mistakes. Think of meeting people like the Remnants but still active Enclave.

Sound like a good idea to me. My favorite part of New Vegas is the fact that you can help a lot of people to the Endgame... That's why I hope they revisit DC in a new Fallout. This sounds like a cool mod

Turns out right outside of Goodsprings is a hilariously bad place to put Vault 101 because all of the beginning dialogs aren't setup for They Went That Away to be active.
