Would you consider making Pre-war variants as a modder's resource?

I could give you the exterior model before I make a final 'destruction' pass, but it's too late to preserve the interior. At least it's not a priority right now :)

Is this a kit, or one whole contiguous model?

I'm going to break it up and optimize it for the NV engine. Don't worry. Think something similar to the McCarran terminal: one piece includes the entire collision model, but the rest of the structure is broken down into smaller pieces. Actually, I'm not sure which approach would be more efficient: for one piece to contain the entire collision model for the building or for each to have a separate collision model. I think the first approach would be better.

I don't plan on making a kit because it's a unique building. Even though many of the architectural elements are modular. If there are plans to create even more unique spaces in TTW, however, I could very well create a building kit based off of the station for people to use.

Worked on some much needed ruination with these columns today.

The interior is now about 70%

The interior is now about 70% finished (not including a collision mesh - can't be falling through those floors, now can we!). I can't wait to finish adding destruction detail and bring this beast into the GECK. I'm pushing about 100,000 triangles in total. More than manageable.

Here's a nice, shaded image of the West end of the station. The doorways on either end of the grand arch are about the size of an office door, or 128x176 units.

@ tj - thank-you! I'd put the ETA at no more than a week.

@ Rise - It'd be great to do an overhaul of the appearance of some of the buildings in DC - make them covered with vines and completely overgrown. It would be so cool to add an extra layer of roots and vines to the station and make it look like everything was being pulled down to the ground.

It just wouldn't fit the look of the rest of the game, though.

Large update from this last

Post by TrickyVein » Sat May 04, 2013 7:39 pm

Large update from this last week - meshes are now broken up and imported into the GECK:

[collapsed title=GECK work 3][/collapsed]

Both the North and South facing 'walls' are split up into five pieces, each piece between 6 - 7,000 triangles; East and West grand arches are single pieces, around 20,000 triangles or more (for comparison, one stretch of overpass contains about the same number).

Focus can now shift to completing the exterior.  All of the meshwork for the interior is as finished as it's going to be.
