Making a TTW mod

Post by Senterpat » Tue Feb 26, 2013 3:57 am

Hello, I'm trying to make a mod to learn my way around the geck, just a simple player house for now, but had a couple of questions:

How do I go about creating the mod? Do I make the house in the FO3 geck, then just convert it to NV master esm?

How can I add a reloading bench and other NV exclusive stuff to it?

What should I load into the GECK? Trying to load it with TTW esm as a master I get the too many masters to continue loading message.

I have no experience modding anything other than vanilla game content so am having trouble figuring all this out. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm going to try, making the house structure in FO3 geck, then converting it to the NV master and decorating it in the NV geck. But I don't know how I can get the door to load into the CW where I want, because I think loading it in the NV geck wont have the reference so it will be erased.

Whoa there. Quite a big leap, but I'm glad to see someone taking some interest. Unfortunately, you might lose said interest when you see what needs to be done.

First, I would recommend googling a tutorial on making new interiors with the geck. It really helps to get you used to the feel, the speed, and some of the functions.

After watching, make your own house for New Vegas. Don't worry so much about making it compatible with TTW first. Just get a good, stable home.

If and when you finish, there are members here who can help you turn this into a mod usable for TTW.

That's about as much as I can do for you. But there are lots of videos and readmes out there. In the mean time, you could make a thread and ask around about what types of things people want in a player home. Better yet, see if anyone else here is working on a similar mod and work together.

I wish you luck!

I'm not alright, I'm an equal amount of left.

Go to Documents -> my games -> FalloutNV -> GeckCustom.ini

Search for "bAllowMultipleMasterLoads"

Set it to 1, so it should read

bAllowMultipleMasterLoads=1

Then you can load TTW into the FalloutNV GECK

That's the TTW related stuff, as for modding, there are plenty of excellent tutorials on the internet that can get you started.

Thanks, that's exactly what I needed. The Geck seems pretty much the same as Skyrims engine. Going to start tinkering and messing with some other mods.

Heres a link to the house if anyone needs one: http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/49446
