Modding Help

Post by BelGarion » Wed Sep 04, 2013 12:20 am

Want to convert Nevada Skies - URWLified but that means copying the data from Day to High Noon and Night to Midnight since High Noon and Midnight has 0 0 0 for the RBG value. And there are a *LOT* of entries to be typed in. Is there an easier way, something more automated (not necessarily fully automatic ) to do this?

Nope. None that I know of.

Nope. None that I know of. That's probably one reason why nobody has done it.

Except TJ Midnight, but AFAIK he doesn't have permission to distribute so I won't ask him for a copy. Well, I might have to see if I can get the FO:3 URWL mod converted and working since it's mostly for FO:3 anyway, I hate the ugly green skys in the DC Wasteland. And FO:3 is why there needs to be data for Midnight and High Noon. Unless I need to do the same for the FO:3 mod too... >.< I hope not, let me see...

What he says is true brother, but really it's just as simple as setting up any other weather mod to work with TTW...

True, easy, but mind numbing

Post by BelGarion » Wed Sep 04, 2013 1:48 am

True, easy, but mind numbing tedious, and that's the part I'm having trouble with, the literally 100s if not 1000s of bits of data to be typed in. Don't want to use Fellout (it's on the mod page) since it's so dark at night and the streetlight mod hasn't (AFAIK, the mod page says only for the DC Wasteland) been updated to work in both Wastelands. >.< And, yeah, no way to use the UWRL for FO:3, a butt ton of errors pop up, 99% are "Expected 1 byte of data" type. Umm... *thinks*

Yeah it hasn't been updated

Post by TJ » Wed Sep 04, 2013 2:39 am

Yeah it hasn't been updated (I'm that guy too) but in the meantime you can just download simple streetlights from Moddb for NV streetlights. I only had to change like 6 zeros though if I remember right... been along time though, I could be wrong..

The one byte of data it expects is either a 0 (if you want to recreate the blackout bug) or copy the data from the time setting before...

*Hmm* Or ... I wonder, this

*Hmm* Or ... I wonder, this says any version of Fellout, anyone tested it with the TTW version of Fellout?

Also half considering an ENB of some sort. Though those tend to kill system resources. *thinks*

Well, got the ENB working,

Post by BelGarion » Wed Sep 04, 2013 8:05 am

Well, got the ENB working, mostly. Looks good with a couple of *minor* issues. The Capital Wasteland looks overcast all the time with too much fog in the distance. Over certain terrain the PC looks ghost like translucent. And lastly a single tunnel going from the above ground part of the train station to the underground part (where you buy the ticket and go to the train) vanishes almost entirely. Everything else looks good, just this one tunnel does that and it does it for both the CW and NV stations. Beyond that it all looks good. Now I just need to find a Dummies Guide to ENBs to figure out which settings I need to tweak. >.<

Update: I think I found a fix for the transparency issue thanks to Omegared's mod. Will see. As for the rest, just going to take learning what each setting does. Half tempted to mix in Imaginator by Gopher for better on the fly editing. But I hear it bloats the snot out of your save files.
