Picture this, 210 years after the bombs fell. Lurking in the shadows, a distinct government unheard, unseen, and yet not unknown. Leading in secret before the bombs fell but now ready to take on the task at hand. Cleansing the wastes of what is the world and restoring it to the great Pre-War era.

Isn't that the Enclave?

Sounds interesting, will be checking out this thread from now on for updates and ideas.

I guess it's similar to the Enclave. Except The theory behind the Illuminati is they are an organization that basically runs everything. Not necessarily descendants of the U.S. Government. I'm also hoping to have some technologically advanced armors and weapons. Beyond that of Plasma laser and such. Because The Illuminati has been hiding all this time and yet has been able to quote "Run the world." My idea is to have an underground almost vault-like city basically. With troops, government peoples, and what-not.

While they've been down there, watching us, they've been studying, training, and advancing science for our betterment. *Just typing is giving me the chills* Maybe they will come up with an apparent cure for the FEV virus.

Stay tuned. Just throwing out ideas a bit now.

Well that's what the enclave was in pre-war government, they were a shadowy secret organization that basically ran everything, they weren't just remnants the enclave were literally the secret government of the USA.

Illuminati = Enclave in

Illuminati = Enclave in fallout lore. Enclave just sounds cooler. And their power armor is better.

I highly doubt the Enclave

I highly doubt the Enclave would allow a second secret organization to run things in America before the war xD maybe you can have them being a order that rose up during the chaos of Fallout 2 in the NCR and they quickly spread their influence.

In this case to differ from "The Enclave" I would suggest having the Illuminati a multi-national organization. A Dark United Nations as it were. The Illuminati has always been about "The New World Order" not just the U.S. That's my suggestion anyway. Could have a pair of top commanders being Chinese and American that orchestrated the entire "Great War" just to remove the obstacles that were in the way so that the Illuminati to rebuild the world in their image type of thing. Any way, good luck and i'll keep an eye on how it progresses.

That's a great idea, except

That's a great idea, except for the fact that 200 years later nothing has been done. At least in the U.S. judging from the state of the country in FO3/NV.

True, maybe that's the plot point, somethings get out of hand even for the Illuminati

Oh hey just thought of something. Why have the illuminati been absent for all these years? Simple. Vault zero style

 http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Vault_0

Except they are released every number of years to use their influence to change the wastes in small ways. Imagine playing through TTW and finding out that the idea to start the NCR & Legion Hoover Dam battle was because of two copies of the same letter being sent to both leaders of their respective armies. And that James' Lab assistant while he worked in Rivet was a spy who sabatoged the system the first time around.

I dont know about you guys but Id be pretty pissed at these guys. I'm kinda getting the image of these fellas being as pompous and smart as the think tank and has the Ultra Lux/Mr.House Mighthier than though attitude. God Im coming up with these character traits and hate them!

Anyways. So they have basically kept a watchful eye and always voted whether such and such an action should be continued or taken care of every few years. Also gives them time to stretch their legs.
