I may be late to the game on this one but I just found Nifscope 2.0 and it rocks!!!
just thought others might not know about it too.

What does it do that 1.1.3 doesn't?
for one you can change the lighting and position of the sun.
You can choose loose files and folders as Resource files
it's easier to navigate and has a nice toolbar to toggle collision, nodes and whatnot.
has a screenshot feature
Edit: a big feature is you can now Save and Save As. Not always having to do a Save As when changing a texture is nice.
Hmm. Generally if it makes work flow more smoothly I might consider trying it out.
Too many times I've encountered where something appears to be correct or plays correctly in NifSkope but not in game, so I don't give any credence to previewing anything inside of it, even if it's a prettier preview.
TBH all I really cared about was the ability to use Loose files and folders as Recourses. I do a lot of textures and it's nice when changing them up I don't have to pack a new BSA.
I've been using it for along time now, I suggested it to you before Tricky. Just a working preview window that doesn't act all jiggy was enough for me. And yes, the UI is improved.

It will also load textures from folders so if your working on a model and updating it's textures you can choose a folder as a resource before you back them into a BSA.
Go to Options\Settings\resources you now have a choice between Paths and Archives. In paths simply choose your Data folder and Nifscope will also see any loose textures in your using. ![]()
I didn't know that it did that but old Nifscope did let you use BSA's you just had to select them in the resource section. I always used the archives with it.
The old one let you set relative paths also, but the new one won't. However if you put them in the ini manually they work.

we must be using different versions of Nifscope 2.0 I can set the texture path to a folder without messing with the .ini. ![]()
