Hi guys. So, I noticed that there is a lack of NPCs in the Capital Wasteland that are capable of repairing items to 100%. Sure, Somah can do it, but she's temporary and once she leaves you can't find her again. Now, there is a FO3 mod that gives Moira a repair skill of 100. Could someone get a conversion of this for New Vegas?
Repair leveling in Fallout never made sense to me. These people have been repairing things all their life, so why should you gaining a level in shooting suddenly make them better at repairing? It should be altered to be an investment thing: to repair better, they need better/more expensive repair tools and better/more expensive parts, so you have to invest certain amounts of money to get better repairs from the people who can repair things. That would be a counterpart to the investments in the caravans.
And along those lines is why I always invest in Wolfgang's caravan since he gets the highest repair. Along with essential mod to keep him alive.
Isn't it as easy as opening the GECK and find Moira, Edit and increase her skill value, save it as a new plugin and then activate that plugin and it's done?
Also if you have nothing against using console commands you can just open the command console, click on Moira Brown then use the command:
modav repair 76
That will make Moira have a repair of 100, I think it will be permanent for that playthrough, so you shouldn't need to use the console command again unless you start a new game or reload a save file from before the change.
Moira's repair skill is dependent on a few things, level and if you attain the dream crusher perk.
